Fishamble: The New Play Company returns to Ireland with its multi-award winning production of The Pride of Parnell Street by internationally acclaimed novelist and playwright Sebastian Barry. Originally premiered in London in 2007, The Pride of Parnell Street toured Ireland and internationally in 2008, and was presented as part of the 1st Irish Festival in New York in 2009, to further great acclaim. Our Access Policy

Relax in a comfortable setting located in the heart of DCU and avail of a free wireless access. 8.30AM – 5PM, MONDAY – FRIDAY (BANK HOLIDAY AND EASTER OPENING TIMES MAY VARY).

To facilitate seating and for the comfort of all patrons, the doors to The Helix will open two hours prior to the performance. Latecomers will only be admitted during a suitable break in performance. In the event of lateness, admission cannot always be guaranteed.

The Helix Cafe

The Helix aims to recognise and acknowledge people’s differences and support them with their individual needs. Our Facilities include; a lift to all levels to maximise access. Several wheelchair accessible seating positions are available in our auditoriums. We operate a Sennheiser two-channel infra red loop system for those with hearing impairments. The terminus of the 17A bus is at Howth Junction Dart Station. The 103 and 104 buses operate via Clontarf Dart Station. From Drumcondra Train station, you can take the following buses to The Helix/ DCU: 3, 11, 11A, 11B, 16, 16A, 33, 41, 41B, 41C

Car:

M50 Northbound

Proceed along the M1 until you come to the roundabout that intersects with the M50 ( Junction 3). Proceed southbound along the M50 and take the Ballymun exit ( Junction 4). At the traffic lights on the roundabout, turn left and drive through Ballymun. Turn left at the Collins Avenue/Ballymun Road crossroads. The Helix/ DCU is located on Collins Avenue 500m on the right hand side.

M50 Southbound

Drive through the Westlink toll bridge and continue along the M50 until the Ballymun exit ( Junction 4). At the traffic lights on the roundabout, take the third exit and drive through Ballymun. Follow the directions for The Helix/ DCU as outlined above.

From City Centre

Follow the airport road which takes you through Drumcondra along the N1, towards the M1. Continue past the junction for Griffith Avenue until you reach the junction at Whitehall. At this crossroads turn left onto Collins Avenue. The Helix/ DCU is 500m on the left hand side.
