HOWARD S. REEDER, INC.

Steele Reeder, Trey Reeder and Alicyn Reeder-Drujak Larry and Ross Reeder

ON CONNECTIONS: Alicyn: “I think working with my father [Steele] has brought us closer. Now we not only connect on a personal level but on a professional level as well. It’s these different perspectives that have allowed me to fully realize what an incredible man he is.” Larry: “One of the best parts of working [with my son Ross] is having the opportunity to lunch together and share experiences.”

ON FAMILY BUSINESS: David: “The best thing about working together is working with someone who has the company’s, and your, best interest at heart.”

ON TRUST: Steele: “There is no better feeling for me than to introduce clients to my children [Alicyn and Trey] who have such an active role in the advancement of the company. The most surprising thing for me is that I find myself going to them for ideas and opinions more then maybe they come to me.” Alicyn: “I’ve learned from my father how to have complete faith in your children’s ability. Very early on he bestowed responsibilities upon me that at times I was not sure if I would be able to handle. His unwavering faith in my abilities gave me the confidence to always be successful.”

ON LESSONS LEARNED:

ON EACH OTHER:

Audrey: “I’ve learned a multitude of valuable lessons from my father, but the most prominent lesson is to survey the entire situation thoroughly before making a major decision.” David: “Audrey has taught me how to pay more attention to detail and to not procrastinate.”

Audrey: “Not only am I afforded the opportunity to see my father every day, but I’m able to better understand this industry and learn from both him and his peers. My father is very highly regarded in the packaging equipment industry and it’s inspiring to catch him in a moment of brilliance.” David: “Audrey doesn’t stop at success, she strives for perfection.”

Gerald and Brandon Biondo

ON LIFE BALANCE: ON CREATING A LEGACY: Brandon: “Getting to interface with his clients and their families, and in some cases, starting to work with his clients’ children has created a genuine feeling of family progression within the firm. I look forward to continuing the business once my father eventually retires. Also, the added treat of a free lunch every now and then is not something I’m going to complain about.” Gerald: “Practicing law with Brandon has given me a fresh perspective. The law is constantly evolving and Brandon always has creative solutions to resolving issues our clients face when trying to get deals closed. I have learned to keep an open mind and have grown as a lawyer watching my son in action. He has rejuvenated my career as I would have likely retired a while back, but now look forward to practicing law for several more years.”

ON SURPRISES: Rick: “After 15 years [of working together], we are surprised as to how well we continue to keep our daily lives fresh with new ideas and added value to our clients and the community. We have attained a harmony of passion and brains and have fun sharing in the life experience.”

Brandon: “Growing up, my dad was always active in all aspects of my life, from schoolwork to coaching my sports teams. I never realized the balance this must have taken until I entered the workforce myself. This has taught me the importance of being present and involved in my two sons’ lives. I now coach my oldest son’s basketball team, which is the very same league that my dad coached years ago. The importance of having a balanced life at home while working hard every day in the office has been such an important example for me in my life.”

He is my role model on giving back to the community. His focus is to be efficient and effective.”
