OU R VI S I O N : To Strengthen the Character of Our Community

MORE THAN A GAME The First Tee of Greater Richmond is strengthening the character of our community by providing programs that build resilience in our youth, teach critical life skills, and provide caring adult supervision in a safe environment. The First Tee is more than a game - it is developing good golfers and better people. PAGE 2

FROM OUR LE A D ERSH IP On behalf of our Board of Directors, it is my pleasure to present The First Tee of Greater Richmond’s 2018 Annual Report. The numbers inside speak for themselves, but make no mistake, the numbers are only part of the story. True to our mission, our organization strengthened the character of our community in 2018. Our programs provided valuable life skills training to Richmond’s youth and our public facilities provided safe, high-quality venues for our participants and patrons – all through the great game of golf! I am honored to be the new Chair and to follow in the footsteps of Mike Walton, who’s term as Chair concluded in 2018. Mike’s tenure as Chair was marked by high character, an unwavering commitment to the First Tee’s Nine Core Values, and advancements in our organization’s governance practices, programs and facilities. While Mike continues to serve as Past Chair and an active Board Member, we would be remiss not to note his service and accomplishments in these pages.

Finally, and most importantly, thank you for your support! Your contributions are an investment in our community and its next generation of leaders. And our momentum is growing. An expanded partnership with the PGA Tour Champions Dominion Energy Charity Classic and major renovations at the Tattersall Youth Development Center in Chesterfield are just a few of the exciting developments already in motion for 2019! Best, Ben Pace Board Chair

In 2019, renovations will turn the clubhouse into a transformative youth-centric space to include an interactive classroom.
