Carnival City adds Sun Park venue Sun International’s Carnival City has enhanced its capacity as a host for grandscale events with its new multipurpose venue, Sun Park. Responding to a growing demand for a versatile and innovative facility to stage large events on Johannesburg’s East Rand, Sun Park is a semi-permanent, flexible infrastructure built around a sophisticated grid that can be arranged into any configuration. Sun Park incorporates a marquee structure, deck and outdoor beach area, offering the facilities and support services of an indoor events venue, with the flexibility of an outdoor space. The grid spans 3 000 square metres and a beach area, complete with real beach sand. The modular design means customisation is endless and amenities can service anything from food festivals, launches and banquets to exhibitions, concerts and pageants. The infrastructure offers water, electricity, WiFi, an office and storage space. “Sun Park can rapidly bring large events to life. The semi-permanent modular design of Sun Park is based on internationally proven expo parks. Whether you want outdoor, indoor, multiple or triple-story structures, Sun Park is easily transformed. Due to the flexibility of the semi-permanent Sun Park infrastructure and the sophisticated grid

that gives you easy access to amenities, it’s quick and easy to build any type of event, of various sizes or configuration,” says Rory Phelan, Business Development Manager: Sun Sales. Sun Park facilities are also available at Sun City and Sibaya, with a modified form at GrandWest. “We consider this investment in Sun Park as part of our commitment to creating a seamless events, entertainment and hospitality experience in Ekurhuleni,” adds Annemie Turk, General Manager at Carnival City.
