Eagles, Lady Eagles take wins over Mexia at home Cole, Cain, Heers lead Eagles in victory over Mexia

Win over Mexia girls gives Lady Eagles 7-0 district record Fairfield Lady Eagles challenged Mexia to a home game, edging them 47 to 45, Tuesday night, Jan. 29. The Lady Eagles played great defense throughout the game. In the first quarter Karonesha Lowery hit two baskets helping the team

obtain a 10 to 6 lead. Tiara Tatum scored 8 points in the second quarter and Ainsley Richardson hit seven points in the third. In the final quarter Tiara Tatum made a layup with 23 seconds left in the game giving the Lady Eagles the lead. Gabby Ransom had a solid

game at point guard, and back up Hannah Dodds played important minutes. Jasmine Griffin controlled the boards with 18 rebounds and Ainsley Richardson was tough competition all night. The Fairfield Lady Eagles are District Champions with a 29-2 record and a 7-0 district

record with one game left. The Lady Eagles are ranked No.1 in Class 3A of the Texas Girls Coaches Association (see related chart). The Lady Eagles have two warm-up games: Saturday, Feb. 9, in the Glen Rose Playoff Preview, where they

The Eagles are currently first in district with three games to go and a 4-1 record. Season totals are as follows; Bryson Gates leads the team with an average of 10 points a game, Cooper Cole and Aaron Heers hold the highest percentage of three pointers made, and Bryson Gates and Aaron Cain hold the most rebounds.
