townhouse complex in the works wFreehold Councillors unanimously supported a city staffendorsed proposal to build a 68-unit freehold townhouse development on vacant land on the northeast corner of Eglinton Avenue West and Kipling Avenue. Area councillor Gloria Lindsay Luby moved the motion, which passed without discussion or debate. No area residents attended to speak to the item. Hunter and Associates Ltd. plans to build the threestorey, three-bedroom infill townhouses in six blocks on the 1.37 hectare-site. “Infill townhouse projects are developments which help revitalize existing communities by adding a variety of housing types and tenure in the neighbourhood,” city planner Ellen Standret wrote in her March 20 staff report.

All-way stop signs are coming to the intersection of Bankfield and Alhart drives. Councillors approved a motion by area Councillor Vincent Crisanti to endorse city transportation staff ’s recommendation to install an all-way stop control at the north Etobicoke intersection near Albion Road and Islington Avenue. The posted speed limit on both streets is 40 kilometres per hour. Stop signs exist on Bankfield both northbound and southbound at Alhart. City staff recommended it “to make the intersection safer for all road users.” in its March 13 report.
