At this stage in the pandemic, there appears to be increased interest in better understanding what went wrong with epidemiology, public health, and science and identifying lessons learned. One example is the initiation of a review of the CDC by the current Director. Another is the launch of a year-long series at Harvard to examine public health problems and solutions. And of course there is our haiku contest which seeks to collect insights about the changes which took place in epidemiology and among epidemiologists themselves. This month we report on one of the earliest Harvard forums which interviewed five former CDC Directors. Our springtime review of upcoming summer programs in epidemiology covering 18 offerings this year is in our April issue. And we could not resist providing you with more examples of the large number of haikus which have been submitted in our contest. The deadline for submission is April 30th and the cash prize winners will be announced in the May issue. Get in your last minute entries
