Hatfield News As we enter the second half of 2013, we are excited about new things and growth that is happening at our Hatfield campus. This week, we expanded our cell group ministry and started two new cell groups: one on "main campus" and one on "sports campus". Next week Monday a new home based cell group for young adults who are not students will start and run from 273 Cliffendale Drive at 7pm. At the end of July, a cell group will be started in the Education campus. Pray that God would continue to grow these cell groups and that He would raise up leaders to lead their generation. [5]

Girls High: a night of worship The Kingdom of God is advancing! If you didn't just take a moment to pause and celebrate, now would be a great time to do that! God is doing a great work in many areas in the life of Eastside - one of these is through our work in various schools around the city. Our heart as a leadership is that God would break down the doors of schools and that every school would become a place of worship - a place where students are committed and devoted to Jesus Christ, and that school halls would become sanctuaries. Thursday 9th May, a team from ECC were privileged to once again lead an inter schools worship night at Pretoria High School for Girls. What an incredible, God-honouring night! A couple hundred guys and girls gathered in the main hall and from backstage the band could hear the expectation building. From the first song, we could tell that God was going to move in a powerful way. And He did! For almost an hour and a half the guys and girls worshipped in absolute abandon, to the point where we literally could not hear ourselves on stage. The presence of God was tangible. God has shown me that Girls High and the many young ladies that walk the halls every day, is very close to His heart. He has a plan for something great and I believe He wants for us as a church to be an encouragement and a prophetic voice into the work He is doing at the school. Would you pray about this? Pray that God would give us direction to know what this means for us, specifically, and for the doors to be opened for us to be a blessing to Girls High. (Celebrate that we have already been asked to lead an annual event there). One of the ways we can be a blessing is by providing a worship team to lead worship at SCA every Wednesday. Currently, the girls worship to CDs. How awesome would it be if a spirit filled musician from Eastside could lead the girls into the presence of God each week? Pray for this too. Pray that God would provide a team to avail themselves to be part of this team, and pray that PHSG would be open to our offer to lead their worship and build a team within their school. -Mark

Pastor’s Retreat This week, our pastoral team travelled to George for an Isaiah 58 pastor’s retreat. This was a great time for our pastors to connect, to pray for the church - specifically that there would be a great move of the Holy Spirit at Eastside and that God would teach us what it means to be a church that ministers in the power and gifts of Holy Spirit. As you receive this, the pastors are half way back from Carmel, so pray God’s protection as they travel and thank Him for this time of refreshing.
