Marathon and Virgin Money London Marathon. Having won several Stevies® at the 2019 International Business Awards, TCS’s race app became the linchpin in enabling the virtual race experience, due to the cancellation of the full versions of the races. The virtual marathon took place on 4th October, with an emphasis on the 45,000 runners taking part around the world continuing to raise funds for their respective charities.

Promotion During the early stages of the pandemic in 2020, TCS launched its flagship event, the TCS Innovation Forum virtually, with only three weeks notice, as a fully digital eight-part series. From June 3rd until September 9th, TCS welcomed 3,218 clients, based in 52 countries across the world, over three times more than its previous physical events. TCS also leveraged its academic partnerships, featuring speakers from Cornell, CMU, Stanford, Rotman Business School as well as Maastricht and Keio Universities. It received extremely positive feedback with more than 95% of clients stating that this event was equivalent to or better than other digital events they attended during the summer. An excellent example of practising its Agile approach to delivering business outcomes.

In October, TCS announced the findings of its global survey, Digital Readiness and Covid-19: Assessing the Impact, revealing that 90% of organisations are maintaining or increasing their digital transformation budgets amid the pandemic. The global survey engaged almost 300 senior business leaders from large enterprises – 97% with revenue above US $1 billion and 44% above US $10 billion – spanning 11 industries across North America, Europe and Asia. The analysis compared organisations that had more advanced digital capabilities in place prior to Covid-19, referred to as ‘leaders’, with those who that had fewer, if any, in place, known as ‘followers’. The study showed that fewer leaders (64%) have seen their revenue decline, compared to followers (73%). Moreover, leaders had better business visibility and a more confident outlook, with 74% of them expecting revenues to bounce back within two years, compared to 54% of followers.

Brand Values TCS understands that the UK’s skills challenges can be addressed by raising the profile of digital skills and exposing young people to the

opportunities of digital career paths at an early age. Now more than ever, TCS is determined to continue its work inspiring young people across the UK. In 2020, TCS successfully pivoted its CSR flagship STEM programme, Digital Explorers, to a virtual event. The programme gives young people aged 14-19 years-old the chance to experience work in digital industries. With industry experts on live panel sessions and TCS volunteers mentoring more than 1,000 young people, insight into current and future technological trends was provided. To date, TCS’ award-winning STEM outreach programmes have inspired more than 500,000 young people to explore a digital future. Learning and sharing are core values TCS upholds and nurtures, with a range of learning platforms, extensive training programmes and certifications to equip employees to deal with the current crisis, enabled by TCS Talent Development. As a result of these programmes more than 90% of the company’s 19,000 employees in the UK and Ireland have been upskilled in a number of topics.
