It’s been a challenging year.
Writing the ‘Year in, year out’ feature (see page 20) was quite an emotional experience, starting with the memory of how I felt in March and April when we first went into lockdown and thinking about the fear of catching COVID and the stressful uncertainty of having no concept of how long the situation would go on for. The anxiety of the queues at the supermarket, which felt reminiscent of a bygone era, particularly when we couldn’t buy any of the basics. Assuming, or perhaps hoping, it would all be over soon.
