Lost In Translation
Design a publication, promotional material and 5 accompanying tv spots based on the TV show ‘Lost’
‘Lost’ follows the lives of various individuals and groups
Concept / Proposition
of people, most importantly the survivors of the crash of a commercial passenger jet flying between Sydney and Los Angeles, on a mysterious tropical island somewhere in the South Pacific.
The publication should educate and advise those who are familiar with ‘Lost’ (and those who aren’t) on the show itself and the themes explored within it, through the use of info graphics. The motion graphic tv spots should relate to the publication.
The show has been somewhat of a phenomenon, with great followings around the world, winning a number of awards. It’s storyline spans the full 6 series and features many weird and wonderful occurrences, both science fiction and fact.
‘Lost’ is a typically convoluted yet educational show, based around multiple scientific and theoretical premises, laced with science-fiction undertones, and wrapped up in the guise of a thriller/adventure/drama.
The publication should be detailed enough to engage original fans, but not too complicated to alienate a wider audience.
How will you visually interpret and communicate such complicated material in a way that is both clear and understandable? What will the main focus be? How will it be delivered?
