Arts & Craft Art Classes

Art for Homeschoolers Instructor: Vicki Baggett Ages: 6 years & up Time: Tuesdays 2:30pm – 3:30pm

Fee: $12/day, or punch card for 5 classes for $50 and a second child discount, 5 classes for $32

This class will explore a variety of media and types of art such as drawing, printmaking, painting, bookmaking, eco-art, and seasonal crafts. Within each project we will discuss the elements of art, the history of art and learn about the different methods of looking at art to understand it. Emphasis will be on exploration, process and, of course, fun.

This playful class will combine stories, movement and art with emphasis on discovery and fun. We will explore ageappropriate art materials and creative movement in response to our favorite storybooks. Dress to make a mess and come ready for some fun!


Workshops Pajama Party Instructor: Crystal Kilmer Ages: 3-5 years Date: January 18th Time: 3:00pm-5:00pm Fee: $14

Put on your PJ’s and bring your favorite snuggy for a special story time filled with fun, games and delicious refreshments. Students will decorate a pillowcase to take home. Students must register by January 13th.

Original T-Shirt Designs Workshop Instructor: Crystal Kilmer Ages: 3-12 years Date: January 18th Time: 1:30pm-2:30pm Fee: $8

Students will design their own t-shirt using stamps, stencils and other unique items. Students need to bring a t-shirt or sweatshirt. All other materials and supplies with be provided. Students must register by January 13th.

Princess Tea Party Instructor: Crystal Kilmer Ages: 3 – 8 years Date: February 1st Time: 3:00pm – 5:00pm Fee: $14

Dress as your favorite princess, and come for a tea party you’ll never forget! Princesses will enjoy games, crafts, music and tea party refreshments. Students must register by January 27th.

Start Your Engines! Instructor: Crystal Kilmer Ages: 3-12 years Date: February 1st Time: 1:30pm-2:30pm Fee: $8

Come paint your own wooden car and race it to the finish line! Students will take home an original race car to add to their collection. Students must register by January 25th.

Valentine T-Shirt Workshop Instructor: Crystal Kilmer Ages: 3-12 years Date: February 6th Time: 6:30pm-7:30pm Fee: $8

Students will create the perfect shirt to wear or to give the person they love on Valentine’s Day. Students need to bring a short sleeved t-shirt, long sleeved t-shirt or sweatshirt. All other materials will be provided. Students must register by February 3rd.

Diva Pillow Case Workshop Instructor: Crystal Kilmer Ages: 3-14 years Date: February 8th Time: 3:00pm-4:00pm Fee: $8

Students will create their own pillowcase that releases their inner-Diva. Students must register by February 3rd.


Sensational Spa Workshop Instructor: Crystal Kilmer Ages: 3-14 years Date: February 8th Times: 2:00pm-3:00pm, 3-10 years 4:00pm-5:00pm, 11-14 years Fee: $8

Participants will enjoy a relaxing atmosphere as they paint fingernails, toenails and get facials. Various massage techniques and facial cleansing techniques will be discussed. Students must register by February 3th.

A Dora Exploration Instructor: Crystal Kilmer Ages: 3-8 years Date: May 17th Time: 3:00pm-5:00pm Fee: $14

After creating a backpack and receiving a map, participants will pretend to be Dora and go on an exciting exploration filled with story time, fun games, a creative craft and yummy refreshments. Students must register by March 12th.

Animal Mania T-Shirt Workshop Instructor: Crystal Kilmer Ages: 3-12 years Date: April 3rd Time: 6:30pm-7:30pm Fee: $8

Students will paint animals on t-shirts using stamps, stencils and other materials. Students need to bring a t-shirt to decorate. All other materials will be provided. Student must register by March 31st.

Ballet Classes will give children opportunities to build coordination, flexibility, confidence and character as well as ballet dance skills. New students can join at the beginning of each month. Come join us in a fun and energetic environment!

Jazz Dance is a fun, sassy class perfect for dancers of all ages. Classes will help improve technical elements including pirovie turns, grand jete leaps, switch leaps, and toe touches. During the class we will learn lots of cute choreography and combination to fun, upbeat music.

Hip Hop Instructor: Nikki Green Ages: 6 - 14 years Time: Wednesdays, 7:00pm - 8:00pm Fee: $10/class or $30/month

Hip Hop Dance is an upbeat, grooving good time that will keep you on your feet! Come learn new hip moves and fun combinations. We will learn tricks from floor work, stalls, headstands, and head springs. This class is perfect for anyone who loves to get down and pop to the beat of the music!

Twirling Instructor: Crystal Kilmer Times: Tuesdays 3-5 years: 3:30pm - 4:15pm Beginners: 4:15pm - 5:00pm Select Team: 5:00pm - 5:45pm Inter. – Advanced:5:45pm - 6:30pm

Fee: $30/month

Learn fundamentals, tricks, salutes, footwork, kicks, dance, twirl, and novelty routines with ribbons, flags, dance hoops and much more! Students will need a baton that fits the length of their arm. Private and semi-private lessons are available by appointment only.


Tutorial Time Instructor: Crystal Kilmer Ages: 3-18 years Date/Time: By appointment Fee: $20/hour

Tutoring students based on their individual needs for re-teaching or enrichment in the subject area of their choice. Students will learn new strategies based on their learning styles to become successful by a certified teacher. Pre-K readiness classes are also available.

Drill Team Workshop Instructor: Crystal Kilmer Date: February 1st Times: 12:00pm-1:00pm Fee: $10 per student

Students will learn the basics of drill team fundamentals, kicks, leaps, jumps and a performance at the end of class. Students must register by January 27th.

Twirling Workshop Instructor: Crystal Kilmer Ages: 3-18 years Date: February 8th Times: 9:00am-10:45am, 3-8 years 11:00am-12:45pm, 9-18 years

Student will learn the fundamentals, footwork, kicks and a routine. Students need a baton that fits the length of their arm. For information on purchasing a baton, please contact the instructor. Parents are invited to enjoy a performance at the end of their child’s class. Students must register by February 1st.

Kids 16 years & under can compete in a few fishing event sponsored by the Nacogdoches Parks & Recreation Department. The Lakeside Park Pond will be stocked with Rainbow Trout so come out and take advantage of this unique opportunity to fish! Prizes will be awarded for largest trout, smallest trout, heaviest stringer & largest fish of any species along with lots of over giveaways. Participants are allowed to keep the fish they catch, so don’t miss out!

This noncompetitive martial art combines Judo and Aikido, joint locks, throws, ground fighting, punching and kicking. New students are welcome at any class.

Fat Blasting Boot Camp Instructor: Wesley Kephart Ages: 16 years & up Date: Mondays & Wednesdays Time: 5:30pm - 6:15pm Fee: $5/class or $40/10 class punch card

Do you want to melt fat and tone muscles? Join us for dynamic boot camp experience. We will mix cardio with strength exercises in this circuit training style class to get the most benefits out of the least amount of time. Let’s get ready for summer together!


LibertyHall/Park Pavilion Rentals Liberty Hall Rental Liberty Hall (El Camino Real Park) is available for parties, reunions, or corporate functions. The facility has a small kitchenette and large meeting area with a maximum capacity of 75 people. Some tables and chairs are provided.

Contact: C.L. Simon Recreation Center (936) 559-2960 Fee: $100 for four hours OR $200 all day *Payment must be received within 7 days of making the reservation. Cancellations made more than 7 days prior to the event will receive a full refund. $100 deposit or $500 with alcohol, required in the form of a check when keys are picked up.

Park Pavilion Rentals Park pavilions are available to reserve for get-togethers. There are 15 different covered pavilions throughout the City and around Lake Nacogdoches.

Lake Nacogdoches Lake Nacogdoches is a 2210 acre reservoir located 10 miles southwest of the City on FM 225. There are three pavilions, a swimming area, a fishing pier, and a boat ramp in the west side park. There are also tables, a swimming area, and another boat ramp on the east side of the lake.

Lanana Creek Trail The Lanana Creek Trail system is over 6 miles of both paved and unpaved walking and/or biking paths. The trail is equipped with water fountains and emergency phones, and patrons are encouraged to enjoy the wooded scenery safely during the daytime.


Birthday Party Packages $100 (including supply fee) Package includes room rental for an hour and a half, decorations, invitations, “thank you” notes, party games, and activities for eight (8) children. Choose from over 30 themes! Parents must pick up and mail invitations and “thank you” notes as well as supply cake, punch, or any other desired food items. There is an additional fee of $5 for any added children. Parties must be paid in advance, and cancellations must be requested three (3) weeks in advance. Goody bags are available for $3 each.

Baby/Wedding Shower; Graduation/Retirement/ Anniversary Party $60 + $40 Supply Fee Packages include room rental for an hour and a half, decorations, invitations, and optional shower/party activities, for 20 guests. The host/hostess must pick up and mail invitations as well as supply cake, punch, or any other desired food items. There is an additional fee of $5 for extra guests. Favors and “thank you” cards are available for an additional fee.

Gymnastics Birthday Parties The Gymnastics area can be rented for supervised birthday parties. The fees are as follows: Up to 12 children - $75 for two hours 13-24 children - $125 for two hours Parties are reserved in 2 hour blocks of time on Saturdays only and includes set-up & clean-up.
