Manitoba Team Penning Association Rick Andrews Box 21, Site 185, RR1 Brandon, MB., R7A 5Y1 Email: r_andrews@ducks.ca. www.mantcpa.com Happy New Year to All! Your new board met for the first time this past week and discussed a number items regarding this coming penning season. Some of the items we are currently working on include: 2012 Finals Show, Herd holding guidelines, arena etiquette, fund raising and safety issues. These are some of the items raised at the AGM and will be followed up early this year. The tentative show schedule will posted on the website as soon as possible and will definitely be available for the next newsletter. Your new board members are listed below; please feel free to contact anyone of us with concerns or ideas for the MTPA in 2012. ~ See you at the Pen, Rick

Fund Raising

Clint Masse is serving as our Fund Raising Chair again for 2012. The raffle was a success and will be conducted again in 2012. As well we will continue to sell cattle numbers as a means for business to advertize their name around the Province. Clint is working on sponsor packages and these will be mailed to all members shortly. If you have need for a package sooner, please contact Clint directly @ 955-0906 or email at clint@cornmaze.ca

Memberships are DUE

Memberships are due and renewal forms will be in the mail shortly. If you are going to pen this year please renew your membership promptly. This will ensure you are sent your new rating number from the CTCPA and it save a lot of aggravation renewing your membership at the first penning.

Ratings

There were only a handful of rating changes for this coming year. IF your number has changes you have been notified directly by phone by the rating committee. Please note that the ratings on the CTCPA website will not be changed until you have renewed your membership.

JULY 2012

Heartland Rodeo Association was honored to partner up with the Children's Wish Foundation to grant a wish for one special little girl! During our Finals held in Carman the weekend of September 10th and 11th, 2011, Jolene Deamel was granted a wish to compete during the rodeo in barrel racing. Jolene is 9 years old and lives just outside of Carman. She was diagnosed with a form of severe form of epilepsy at six months of age. She enjoys biking, swimming, skating and recently has started horse back riding lessons. Her favourite tv show is the series Heartland on CBC. With one wish complete Jolene is not slowing down and moving onto another goal of one day going on a trail ride with her own horse, Gyp. We would like to thank Tom Moran for the use of his horse and wish Jolene all the best in the future.
