Women Of Atlantic County Karen Laverack, Practice Manager, Advanced Care OB/GYN Karen grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs and moved to South Jersey when she married her husband John, of 30 years! Karen and John, and their children Christopher and Brooke, then moved to Florida where they spent the last 24 years until moving back to South Jersey in May 2018. Karen’s heart had never left Philadelphia, where her parents, family and friends are. Karen and John bought a fixer upper on the Mullica River in Green Bank, New Jersey, where John is utilizing his lifelong building skills and are doing a complete renovation. Karen has a strong GYN background as practice manager in Florida, as well as a 15-year history of owner of a medical transcription company. Karen has a great passion for animals, and often fosters kittens and puppies until they are healthy enough for adoption. In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her three dogs Oscar, Laci and Bella, cooking, reading, and spending time with friends and family. Stephanie Hopkins, CPC Cutting Board Creations, LLC Stephanie was born and raised in Nazareth, PA and received a degree in Business Logistics from The Pennsylvania State University. After spending many years in Project Management and Consulting, working on both the vendor and user sides, Stephanie changed career paths and her Personal Chef Business, Cutting Board Creations, was born. Based in Sicklerville, Stephanie has clients all over South Jersey, covering Camden, Burlington and Atlantic Counties. A passion for cooking and long-term interest in health and nutrition made becoming a Personal Chef a natural fit for Stephanie. She is a graduate of the Culinary Business Academy, a Certified Personal Chef, past President of the South Jersey Chapter of Personal Chefs, a Premiere Member of the United States Personal Chef Association, Finalist for USPCA Chef of the Year and a Certified Food Safety Manager. “One of the most satisfying aspects of my job is preparing delicious, healthy meals for my clients and knowing that I am helping them to eat well” states Stephanie. Lisa Ledden Nurse Practitioner, Certified Dermatology

Lisa Ledden has been a nurse practitioner specializing in dermatology since 1996. Before this, she had a broad background in civilian and military medicine. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts in 1985, she was awarded a military commission and accepted into a competitive internship with the U.S. Air Force. As an officer, she practiced trauma and emergency/critical care nursing and was part of a field medicine deployment team. She was awarded the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal in 1991. After seven years of service, Lisa left the military as a captain to pursue a civilian career. She accepted a position as nurse manager of the Heart Group of Oklahoma (the largest cardiac practice in central Oklahoma) and subsequently managed emergency services at Milford Memorial Hospital in Delaware while pursuing a master’s degree in nursing at Wilmington College in Georgetown, DE. At that time, she developed a special interest in dermatology. While continuing to practice in dermatology, she was an adjunct professor in the graduate program at Wilmington College. In 1998, she relocated to Michigan to practice dermatology and expanded her knowledge of cosmetic and surgical dermatology. Erika Lezama is an attorney at the D’Amato Law Firm, where she practices plaintiffs’ personal injury law. Prior to joining the D’Amato Law Firm, Erika practiced plaintiffs’ consumer law on an individual and class action basis, primarily focusing on consumer protection and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). Out of law school, Erika served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Colleen A. Maier, J.S.C., in Cumberland County and to the Honorable Sandra Lopez, J.S.C., in Salem County. While at Rutgers Law School, Erika used her fluency in Spanish and English to advocate for people throughout the South Jersey area. Erika was the Associate Managing Editor of the Rutgers Journal of Law and Religion. In 2017, Erika was awarded the Dean’s Pro Bono Public Award for dedicating over 100 pro bono hours to address unmet legal needs in the community of Camden County. She was a Maida Public Interest Fellow and an Advanced Clinical Student Representative for the Immigrant Justice Clinic, appearing in Federal Court in her third year of law school. She is a member of the Cape May County Bar Association, Atlantic County Bar Association, Middlesex County Bar Association and Burlington County Bar Association. Erika lives in Ocean City with her boyfriend, Ed Simonson, Esq., and their Standard “Parti Poodle” named Fin.
