In the summer of 2010, I designed and built an office in the garden of my family home. At the time I had little knowledge of construction, but I felt confident that I would be able to arrive at a design, having completed two years of training as an architecture student. The most useful skills I had learnt from my experience in architecture were principles and processes for designing - the steps I would take from a blank page to a finished building.
