Other artists such as Steve Macginnes, a screen printer, artist Steve Tyorak, as well as Lauren Jenson, UTEP professor and Frank Gepheart, painter-printer, would all frequent and contribute to the creative output of The Brew House. Dan Lomax, UTEP sculpture professor and his daughter both lived there. Lola Gandara did her famed stain glass and paintings in her studio there. Robin Quarm, son of the famed professor Joan Quarm, also did a stent at The Brew House. Some of the other names that were a part of this erudite period that went off and gained national and international success were Susan Davidoff, a successful artist who acquired her fame for her etchings and mono prints, and Noel de Gaytano, now a well-known New York artist, both created work at The Brew House. Even within my respective film industry, Ann Savino, who worked as a location manager and line producer on major Hollywood productions that came here in the late 1990s and early 2000s, spent some time there as well. There appeared to be a constant creative confluence that bubbled and brewed just as the beer brewed 30 years earlier within the same brick walls that made up The Brew House. Whatever the craft may have been, the quality and creative fiber of individuals that graced the vast spaces and high corridors within this special building infused their artistic imprint into the soul of The Brew House. Even to this day, there’s a cyclical creative molecule that continues to ferment within the walls of this building. It still brews with the next generation, burning the midnight oil and using it to paint their generation’s art on The Brew House walls.
