In the Word

He IS Risen

The meaning of Resurrection

U

p from the grave he arose, with a mighty triumph o’er his foes, he arose a VICTOR from the dark domain and he lives forever with his saints to reign. He arose, he arose, hallelujah Christ arose. Praise the Lord with me! Jesus Christ AROSE, he came back from the dead! He was resurrected, Hallelujah. When we reflect on Jesus’ resurrection, we should consider what impact it has on our personal lives. I’ll share with you twelve 1 2 ways inwhich the RESURRECTION of Jesus should impact on our lives.

R – Restart >>>>> To restart is to start over, every day we are given a new chance

at life to make full use of a new day. Lamentations 3: 22 - 23 It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

E – Encourage

>>>>> Encourage yourself, the only person who can make the dreams/visions that God has given to you happen is YOU. When there is no one to encourage you, you have to encourage yourself in the Lord. David encouraged himself in the Lord when his wives and others were captured. 1 Samuel 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

S – Surrender >>>>> To surrender is to give up. Many times God allows us to follow Chronicles1 01 : Your Caribbean Christian Magazine

www.chronicles1 01 .info

our own life plan. However, there comes a time when God wants us to follow HIS plan for our lives. In order to know and follow God’s plan for our lives we have to TOTALLY SURRENDER all that we are to God’s will. Jesus Christ is our perfect example, he prayed to his father that the cup of death be removed from him but he asked that his father's will be done. Luke 22:41 -42 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done .

U – Understand >>>> As a child of God, one should seek after good wisdom, good

knowledge and good understanding which comes only from God. Proverbs 1 4:8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

R – Retool >>>> Tools often get rusty and in some cases are no longer useful. What are

your abilities? Are they useful or useless? Seek to develop your ability, redo a course if necessary, learn a new skill to aid in your development. 2 Timothy 2:1 5 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

R – Renew >>>> Renew means to make fresh. To do well and obey the word of God we must renew our mind. We were born in sin and when we are born again we should no longer be committing sin. Thus as Romans 1 2:2 says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." We are to renew our minds and see who we are from God’s perspective.

E – Endure

>>>>To endure means to go through a time of suffering or pain. Are you familiar with the type of training a solider endures? So too, in our lives we must endure the challenging times we may face. 2 Timothy 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

C – Count the Cost >>>> Whatever task we prepare to do, it is important to count the cost. Luke 1 4:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

T – Trust >>>> In all that is done in life, it is important to trust in someone. If trust in placed

in God then life's challenges will be less burdensome. Proverbs 3: 5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Isaiah 26:4 Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength: Psalm 37:3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Business & Money

Business Cents With Rhesa To start us on this journey, let us look at the definition of ‘business’. According to the Miriam Webster Dictionary, a business is “the activity of making, buying, or selling goods or providing services in exchange for money; work that is part of a job; the amount of activity that is done by a store, company, factory, etc.” There is no doubt in my mind that when we say the word business, we often envision a physical building that is heavily stocked with products or offer a specified service, for example WALMART or TARGET. I would like to highlight that each individual is also a business. Yes you are. We market ourselves for jobs, we offer our services to an employer and we manage homes. As a result of this, we receive money from jobs (income) and have to manage this money to take care of our needs (expenses). That's the fundamental principle of business, management of income and expenses. The sole difference between individuals and the formal business is accountability. We do not put ourselves through the rigors of monthly reports, annual audits, annual budgets, assets and liabilities assessments and plans of how to minimize expenses and increasing income. I challenge you this month to do an income and expense assessment of your finances. Are you profitable or are you making a loss? You may be surprised at what you find. Until next time, be smart, be wise with your business cents! Rhesa Jack-Shallow Chronicles1 01 : Your Caribbean Christian Magazine

You have Potential Eloho Efemuai

D

o you know there are so many people out there with amazing gifts and talents who are just sitting down and doing nothing about them? They’re too scared of taking the step to use the gifts God has given them for fear of what people may say or not even believing they are gifted in the first place. Are you one of such people? I would like you to know that God has blessed each and every one of us with gifts, talents and abilities. He created you with purpose and has got great plans for you. But until you believe this, and see yourself the way God sees you, you’d not be able to live your God-given potential. You need to trust Him to enable you use your gifts. Whatever it is that is holding you back; Low self-esteem? Lack of confidence? Fear? I want you to know that God created you with amazing potential and in all the earth there can be no one like you. There is a certain sphere of influence that only you can reach. No one can do it like you. You need to trust Him and believe you can do whatever He says you can do. You will fulfil His purpose for your life. I never believed in myself, I had such a low self-esteem and I was too scared to take the first step; I thought, what would they think of me, I am not good enough, but I believed and trusted God to see me through. Today I am walking in and fulfilling His purpose for my life. It wasn’t easy but it is a process and I am glad I took the first step as I love what I do and do what I love. Sometimes not everyone will believe in you or even support you but as long as you’ve got God who believes in you, He will bring those who will support you, encourage you and help you. Put your confidence in Him and believe all things are possible. Don’t stop believing! I pray that as you read this that God will help you see yourself through His eyes, with the gifts and talents He has given you. I pray that you will trust Him and take that first step. Remember You have got amazing potential, there is so much on the inside of You. Be Inspired

A Mother's Love

written by Caswell Smart

There is nothing to be compared to the love that a mother has for her son, there is a passion, a oneness, Oh, what such amazing bonding that even scientist can never begin to fathom such bonding that surpasses all the theories of atomic bonding, such is the mystery of love, that love a mother has for the fruit of her womb.

Every motion to the tune of life, every kick, every dance that he gives as he moves to the rhythm of love ignites fresh rays of hope that he is alive and well and can't wait to be delivered into this world .

As the sea cries in anguish, spreads and squeezes upon the hands of the rock as the time draw near for her to deliver her tidal waves upon the shore; so does a mother as she gives birth to her son and does everything to ensure he is safe and secure as he enters life's door.

Chronicles1 01 : Your Caribbean Christian Magazine

www.chronicles1 01 .info

Word's can't express the joy on a mother's face as she looks upon her new born's face for the very first time, the chills her heart feels as he cries in child language, ' I'm alive thank God I'm alive' From the first drink from her breast commence a new chapter of love that no man can sever such love is only restricted by time, it is an ocean's crust and a boundless deep, that is a mother's love for her child. Her embrace is a summer sun and her mercy is spring time dew, her anger as the winter's snow and her rebuke more than gold, no prison walls or the pillars of a church, no shame or applause achievement can change a mother's love for her son. Even if he becomes a saint or rebel, an angel or devil, a scholar or a dunce he still remains her son. She remembers the pain she felt to bring him into this world and her cries goes always to God for him regardless of who he becomes, her eyes are heavy clouds with tears of joy and anguish. Sometimes she may jump before a bullet or a moving train, even though she may have no experience in swimming, she will do it to save her son from drowning such mother's strong love will cause her to brave the elements of nature (wind, water and fire) to ensure the safety of her child. Such motherly love reminds me of the love of Christ who went to all lengths to express his infinite love for us. I'm grateful to God for giving me such a mother and i will love and cherish her forever.

Because He

Lives

Hymn written by Bill & Gloria Gaither

1. God sent His son, they called Him Jesus He came to love, heal, and forgive. He lived and died to buy my pardon, An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives. Chorus: Because He lives, I can face tomorrow. Because He lives, All fear is gone. Because I know He holds the future, And life is worth the living just because He lives. 2. How sweet to hold a newborn baby, And feel the pride and joy he gives. But greater still the calm assurance, This child can face uncertain days because He lives. 3. And then one day I’ll cross the river, I’ll fight life’s final war with pain. And then as death gives way to victory, I’ll see the lights of glory and I’ll know He lives.

Did You Know?

The Story behind the Hymn Bill and Gloria Gaither have written hundreds of beautiful Gospel songs over the years. Many churches today still sing their songs. Their music is truly inspirational and has touched many hearts over the years. Today, we find out the story behind the hymn 'Because He Lives' in the words of Gloria Gaither. I am a wife and a mother. It was in the middle of the upheaval in the sixties that we were expecting our third baby. The drug culture was in full swing, existential thought had obviously saturated every area of our American thought, the cities were seething with racial tension, and the God-is-dead pronouncement had giggled its way all through our educational system. On the personal front, Bill and I were going through one of the most difficult times in our lives. Bill had been discouraged and physically exhausted by a bout with mononucleosis, and in that weakened condition had little reserve to fight the psychological battle brought on by some external family problems. Someone whom we had cared about a great deal had hurled some accusations at us and at the Fellowship of Believers and at the whole idea of the existence of God. It was on New Year’s Eve that I sat alone in the darkness and quiet of our living room, thinking about the world and our country and Bill’s discouragement and the family problems—and about our baby yet unborn. Who in their right mind would bring a child into a world like this? I thought, The world is so evil. Influences beyond our control are so strong. What will happen to this child? I can’t quite explain what happened at that moment, but suddenly I felt released from it all. The panic that had begun to build inside was gently dispelled by a reassuring presence that engulfed my life and drew my attention. Gradually, the fear left and the joy began to return. I knew I could have that baby and face the future with optimism and trust. It was the Resurrection affirming itself in our lives once again. It was LIFE conquering death in the regularity of my day. —Gloria Gaither Chronicles1 01 : Your Caribbean Christian Magazine

He IS Risen

The meaning of Resurrection

Continued

I – Invest >>>> Invest in your gift and talent in the kingdom of God. God who blessed you

with your gift/talent will surely reward you for your work in His kingdom. What you put in is what you get out. Ecclesiates 11 :1 Cast they bread upon the waters and thou shalt find it agfter many days.

O – Organize >>>> God honors time and order. Hence, as children of God should be honor time and be organized in our tasks. 1 Corinthians 1 4:40 Let all things be done decently and in order.

N – Now >>>> The right time to get a task done is always NOW. When tasks are put off or procrasination is allowed to steal our time, regret then becomes a part of our life. 2 Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. Prepared by V. Glasgow

Receive Jesus' Resurrection power in your life! Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge that I am a sinner, and I repent of my sins and the life that I have lived without serving you; I need your forgiveness. I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed his precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sins. Romans 1 0:9 says that if we confess the Lord Jesus and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved. Right now I confess Jesus as the Lord of my soul. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved. Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace which has saved me from my sins. I thank you Jesus that your grace never leads to license for sin, but rather it always leads to repentance. Therefore Lord Jesus transform my life so that I may bring glory and honor to you alone and not to myself. Let your resurrection power come alive in my life I pray. Thank you Jesus for dying for me and giving me eternal life. Blessed be your holy name, Oh Lord. Amen.
