We are one another’s angels

Angels Among Us

We are each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another.

A Christmas tree wouldn’t be complete without an angel gracing its tallest bough. Likewise, The Christmas Box International is also watched over by amazing angel volunteers. Led by three incredible presidents, Joell Brown, Tami Baugh and Betty Quinn, our Christmas Box Clubs are truly an army of angels.

~Luciano de Crescenzo

The Salt Lake Christmas Box Club president is Joell Brown. She has held this position for 9 years! Her favorite opportunity as president is being able to bring along a volunteer to help with the monthly parties they provide at the SL Christmas Box House. She loves to watch volunteers find joy as they interact with the children there. Joell also generates tremendous support to CBI through her partnerships in the business community. Tami Baugh has been the president of the Ogden Christmas Box Club for over two years. Tami loves to interact with the children at the Ogden Christmas Box House and help others get involved in that effort as well. She especially loves to go out to local schools and share the message with the students of how they can make a difference with fundraising, donation drives and service projects. Tami is a vital member of the northern region’s Quality Improvement Committee and embraces every task with a full purpose of heart.

For two and a half years, Betty Quinn has been serving as president of the Utah Valley Christmas Box Club, our newest club. Betty enjoys meeting with the donors and listening to how their families have been strengthened and become more united through their service. She loves serving with the other club members and seeing the light return to the eyes of the children through the club’s efforts. These amazing women contribute countless hours to improving the lives of at-risk children in our communities, regionally and internationally. They are ALWAYS ready and willing to help with whatever is needed! Their passion, generosity and genuine concern for the children and youth we serve is contagious and their club members follow their tireless lead. Thank you Christmas Box Club angels! A Garden of Gratitude Heritage Gardens, the site of many a joyful fete, graciously partnered with The Christmas Box International to help make CBI’s Garden Party Celebration, honoring area Christmas Box Club volunteers, a night of fun and special appreciation. The gardens and cuisine at Heritage Gardens couched the evening’s events in beauty, good taste and professionalism. CBI founders Rick and Keri Evans joined the bash to enjoy the sumptuous dinner, along with live entertainment of sixties folk music, provided by the Smith Brothers Trio. Special recognition and presentations were made to our wonderful volunteers by CBI Executive and Assistant Directors, Lisa McDonald and Sherri Engar. Club presidents, Tami Baugh (Ogden), Joell Brown (Salt Lake) and Betty Quinn (Utah Valley), each had the opportunity to address the gathering and share recent accomplishments. At night’s end, feelings of joy and satisfaction--and a pair of colorful gardening gloves--went with us.
