25 He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?

26 Peter saith unto him, Of strangers.

Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free.

27 Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the sh that rst cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt nd a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.

Are you tired of living from hand to mouth? Or do you live comfortably for a while and later nd yourself struggling to make ends meet? Living above your bills is possible and can become your lifestyle, where you don't have to worry about your nances, you just know that you will live above your bills. You have this assurance, not because you are holding on to all you have, or acquiring all you can, but because you get to the point where you can truly say by manifestation, “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want”. It is getting to the point where you are

neither afraid of money nor afraid of spending it. Because the Lord is your shepherd, you shall not want, your wants are the things you can live without. God will not only supply your needs; He will even exceed your wants. That is the realm of enjoyment and luxury; the realm where you can make a decision not to acquire certain things simply by choice and not because you cannot afford them.

In this article, we will be looking at three secrets to living above your bills.

God Is Interested In Your Bills The rst secret we will uncover is that God is interested in your bills. As long as you live on the earth, you will always have bills to pay. These bills may include electricity bills, school fees, house rent, food, maintenance, etc., there will always be bills. Some people even get sick at the thought of these bills. The only way to be free from this is when you get the revelation that God is not just interested in your bills, He wants you to live above them. God does not want you to live in debt, neither does He want you to live in the realm of poverty and lack. In verse 27 of our

main text, Jesus said, go, cast a hook and take up the rst sh that comes up. Open its mouth, and you will nd money; God is interested in your bills.

God Knows The Location Of Your Money The second secret is that God knows the location of your money to pay for your bills. There is a story in the Scripture that God uses to minister to me in almost every area of my life, and that is the story of Joseph. The king had a dream, but no one was able to interpret it, so Joseph was called.

When he came, he said to the king, “God will give you an answer of peace” (Genesis 41:16). No matter what happens around me, my succour is that God has an answer of peace for me. Child of God, God will give you an answer of peace. Your condition may be that you don't even have what to eat, be reassured that God will give you an answer of peace.

When some Christians are going through challenges, they make statements that make me wonder if they really know God, as they claim to. Isaiah 45:3 says, “And I will give you the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places…” Darkness

connotes invisibility. Also, note that the word used there is “riches”. When God talks about riches, you need to open your mind; your mentality, to comprehend and accept what riches are in God's perspective. Abraham was very rich in silver, gold, diamond, and everything. You may say, “Material things don't really matter, what matters is to be rich in the spirit”.

When you quote the Scripture this way, it reveals how spiritually bankrupt you are because being rich spiritually always manifests in material things.

Mike Murdock said that one of the most spiritual persons he's ever met was his father. His father prayed for many hours every day in intercession, but he was poor. This was because he didn't mix the spiritual with other principles that would have brought about material manifestations. The Bible says that a poor man's wisdom is not heard (Ecclesiastes 9:16). I hate poverty with passion. I've been poor, but I am getting rich, and I prefer getting rich than being poor. The reason why there are so many armed and pen robbers, especially those in authority, is that they are afraid of being poor.

While they keep accumulating, they cling more to power with the mindset that if they leave, the money will stop coming in. That is a poverty mentality. The Holy Spirit does not only make you look big, He actually makes you big.

Isaiah 45:3 says, “… I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places that you may know that I, the Lord, Who call you by your name, Am the God of Israel”. God is not only interested in showing you the treasures of darkness and the riches in secret places, but also in giving it to you.

9 But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10

The totality of wealth a country like Nigeria possesses is not fully known yet. The whole earth is lled with God's goodness, and it is there for you. Commune with God in the spirit and He will reveal to you, simple ways you can make money.

Money ows in the direction of energy, but beyond that, money ows in the direction of the will of God. Simon, James, and John were shermen by profession, but Jesus was a sher of men. He said, “Go and catch a sh and open it up”. I want you to know that your wealth will come from the will of God. Sometimes, you may be hardworking, and you expend energy, but it amounts to nothing because you are expending your energy in something different from what God has called you to. There is a place called “there”, and until you locate your “there”, all you will see is toil.

First Things First Finally, the secret of living above your bills is knowing and doing the principle of rst things rst.

33 But seek rst the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all other things shall be added to you.

In Luke 5:4-6, before Simon, James, and John became disciples of Jesus, they went shing but caught nothing.

Jesus came and said, “Cast it there”.

Simon replied that they were professionals, and they had toiled all night, but at the Word of Jesus, they will let down their net. By this action, they caught so much sh that their net began to break. God wants to give you wealth and riches where you don't have to toil. I didn't say where you don't have to work, I said toil or suffer.

God has promised to show you the treasures of darkness and the hidden treasures in secret places. God will unearth it. By His knowledge are the

Your tithe must come rst, your tithe sancties and becomes a source of blessing for the rest. When you don't tithe, you tighten up your nances. Sow your seeds after you have paid your tithe. Practicing this principle of rst things rst takes care of any nancial issues that may arise.

Paying your tithe particularly, and your offering is a sign that you have conquered greed. That is how you live above your bills.

God knows where your wealth is, and He wants to reveal and give it to you but you have to take it.
