Divine Destiny (Part 1)

Pastor Nkechi Ene It is important that you go through life with direction and purpose. There is a destiny that God has in store for you and in this article, we’re going to see some steps to take to be rightly positioned to ful=ill your Godgiven destiny. God has a good and perfect plan for your life. You begin to experience true satisfaction and true ful=illment when you are in your divine destiny. God’s plan to prosper, elevate, and lift you up is located in His destiny for you.

3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age. Also he made him a tunic of many colors.

4 But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him and could not speak peaceably to him.

5 Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his brothers; and they hated him even more.

6 So he said to them, "Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: 7 There we were, binding sheaves in the =ield. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf”.

8 And his brothers said to him, "Shall you indeed reign over us? Or shall you indeed have dominion over us?" So they hated him even more for his dreams and for his words.

9 Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, "Look, I have dreamed another dream.

And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me”.

Dare To Dream For you to live in divine destiny, you’ve got to dream. Joseph dared to dream, and even

when his dream was met with so much opposition and unbelief, he dreamt yet another dream. Many times, when we talk about dreams or we use the word dream, it sounds like a very heavy “spiritual” word.

Dreams are not just for “spiritual” people such as pastors and leaders. A dream is a divinely inspired good idea. Divinely inspired good ideas will keep you in your divine destiny because they come from God Himself. The Scripture tells us that out of your belly will =low rivers of living water (John 7:38). Many times, when we read that, it sounds so spiritual. Rivers of living water =low out of you when you speak in tongues.

When you have received the Spirit of God, rivers of living water and divinely inspired good ideas will come out of your belly.

Divinely inspired good ideas are all within you. As a child of God, you cannot make a change in the world without initiatives and divinely inspired good ideas. You have to learn to tap into the Spirit of God within you.

You have to recognize a divinely inspired idea and run with it, and when you do, you will hit your divine destiny. A man of God said whenever he needed a good idea, he didn’t go anywhere else than to God because the very best idea ever known to man came from God. The idea of sending His only begotten Son to save you and I came from God. The idea is so good that it has changed your eternity and connected you to the blessing of the creator of the universe. So, if you are looking for a good idea, there is no better place to look to than to God. 20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, Ephesians 3:20 20 Now glory be to God, who by his mighty power at work within us is able

to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of-infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.

Many times, we focus on the =irst part that God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, and in=initely beyond... but the second part says, “according to the power that works within you”. The power that works within you is the power that brings out rivers of living water, and divinely inspired good ideas. Many ministries crumble because the pastor cannot sit down and meditate for rivers of living water and divinely inspired good ideas to =low out. You’ve got to receive your divinely inspired good idea because your destiny in God is unique.

Depend On Integrity 2 This is the history of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the =lock with his brothers. And the lad was with the sons of Bilhah and the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives; and Joseph brought a bad report of them to his father.

Genesis 37:2 5 So it was, from the time that he had made him overseer of his house and all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had in the house and in the =ield.

6 Thus he left all that he had in Joseph's hand, and he did not know what he had except for the bread which he ate. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.

eyes on Joseph, and she said, "Lie with me”.

8 But he refused and said to his master's wife, "Look, my master does not know what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand.

9 There is no one greater in this house than I, nor has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?" 10 So it was, as she spoke to Joseph day by day, that he did not heed her, to lie with her or to be with her.

11 But it happened about this time, when Joseph went into the house to do his work, and none of the men of the house was inside, 12 that she caught him by his garment, saying, "Lie with me”.

But he left his garment in her hand, and =led and ran outside.

13 And so it was, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand and =led outside, 14 that she called to the men of her house and spoke to them, saying, "See, he has brought in to us a Hebrew to mock us. He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried out with a loud voice.

15 And it happened, when he heard that I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me, and =led and went outside."

16 So she kept his garment with her until his master came home.

17 Then she spoke to him with words like these, saying, "The Hebrew servant whom you brought to us came in to me to mock me; 18 so it happened, as I lifted my voice and cried out, that he left his garment with me and =led outside."

19 So it was, when his master heard the words which his wife spoke to him, saying, "Your servant did to me after this manner," that his anger was aroused.

20 Then Joseph's master took him and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were con=ined. And he was there in the prison.

Integrity is a decision you make because of your relationship with God. You don’t make decisions based on your circumstances.

Integrity is born from the inside out. Joseph was loved by his father specially and he must have been under pressure from his brothers. In spite of that, Joseph worked with the principle of loyalty and integrity.

His loyalty was to his father, he gave his father the bad report of his brothers exactly the way he saw it. When Potiphar’s wife came after him, he used the same principle: “I cannot sin against God! Potiphar may never know, and nobody may ever know but, I have a Father in heaven who knows”.

Integrity understands that the greatest thing at stake is your relationship with God. Integrity will catapult you into divine destiny. God’s Word says, “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity” (Proverbs 11:3).

Determine Your Harvest

From the Scriptures above, you can see that Joseph was a sower. Something was put in his hand and he recognized it as an opportunity for seed. Potiphar committed his entire household into the hand of Joseph, and Joseph served him faithfully.

God brought him to the point where he was served by the entire nation of Egypt. You can determine your harvest by the way you treat what has been committed to your hand. That responsibility committed to your hand is seed. Your seed will move you into the next phase of your divine destiny.

Your seed is that which God has put in your hand. The Bible says, God is the One Who gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater. God used what was in the hand of Moses (Exodus 4:2). God used the =ive loaves of bread and two =ish in the hand of Integrity means entireness; wholeness; the a little boy (Matthew 14:13-21). God unimpaired space of anything. So, it implies multiplied them. completeness. It means honesty and purity.

In many places you are looked at as a weird There is something that has been committed person if you are a person of absolute to your hands. Your present experience is a integrity. So many Christians have missed result of what you did with what was their divine destiny because they didn’t committed in your hands yesterday. Look at have the courage to walk in integrity. the trend of Joseph: his father committed

responsibility to his hand, he went and checked on his brothers and came back with a report. He got promoted everywhere he went. He got to Potiphar’s house and became the overseer. Everything was committed to his hands, and he handled it so well that even when he was sent to prison everything was still committed to his hand. He had some kind of over sight over the prisoners so much so that they could share their dreams with him.

The size of your harvest is not determined at harvest time. It is not even determined during the growing period. The size of your harvest is determined at seed time. The Scripture says, “… He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly …” (2 Corinthians 9:6). You have the power to determine how high you will go by godly principles.

12 And Joseph said to him, "This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days.

13 Now within three days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your place, and you will put Pharaoh's cup in his hand according to the former manner, when you were his butler.

14 But remember me when it is well with you, and please show kindness to me; make mention of me to Pharaoh, and get me out of this house.

Genesis 40:12-14

Verse fourteen says, “… remember me …” Joseph had his eye on his harvest. He knew what he was doing in the prison will not end in the prison. He knew that the service he was rendering, though in a chronic state, would yield a harvest. So, he wasn’t just doing a good deed. He was doing something with his eyes on tomorrow. He spoke to the butler like someone who knows what he was doing.

More like, something has been committed to my hands. I served in my father’s house, I served in Potiphar’s house and I’m serving in this prison, and there is still an opportunity out there. You had a dream, here is the interpretation, but remember me when it is harvest time, he said to the butler, yet the butler still forgot him. People who are ex-convicts don’t even get jobs normally, but Joseph knew he was determined to have his harvest. Put your seed where you want the level of your harvest to be. Jesus was an investment in the gospel and if God has given His best, then God expects you to give your investment also to the gospel. When you do that, men may forget you, circumstances may put you down, but the King Himself will remember you and cause you to live in His divine destiny for you.
