Familiar faces and the new face of banking
Generations Bank began almost 150 years ago in the town of Seneca Falls. We don’t celebrate that simply as a number or as a sign of longevity. Instead, it’s a symbol of strength and stability. The people and the values of the towns around the Finger Lakes are solid, as solid as a 12 hour day, a handshake agreement or the bond of a decades-long friendship. 150 years ago, no one envisioned depositing a check with a phone or clicking a button to pay a bill, but they knew that the best service means loyal customers. Today, we deliver that service with the most advanced technology…not for technology’s sake. But because it makes everyday banking easier. We do it because it leaves more time for family, and community…and the things we truly value.

Visit mygenbank.com to get started! In the past year, we took our love of technology and for letting the way our customers bank as our driving force. We built a Customer Contact Center at our Headquarters where every phone call and Interactive Teller Machine (ITM) transaction is greeted and assisted by bankers with years of experience. We renovated our flagship office at 19 Cayuga Street in Seneca Falls. This office was originally built in 1977 and with the renovation project of 2016 we introduced the ITM technology already adopted in our Farmington Office both inside and outside the building. Bankers are there on both sides of the experience to assist as needed. Customers love the capability to deposit a check, grab some cash and more both inside the office and in the drive-thru. The ITMs give customers the chance to work with the bankers they know and trust via live video feed right on the machine’s screen. The renovation project was a testament to the flexibility of our staff. We started the project in April and finished for a grand re-opening at the beginning of October 2016, closing one half of the bank at a time. We did this to keep the bank and all of its services available for all our customers. To further our commitment to technology we launched our latest capability in Q4 of 2016 – Online Account Opening. With this offering, new and existing customers can open checking, savings and CD accounts with their smartphone or tablet, without needing to come into a Generations office. We serve our customers in our 9 retails offices – with all their banking, insurance and financial planning needs – and we serve them wherever they are with the help of our MyGenMobile banking app including the Remote Deposit Anywhere check deposit capability, Online Account Opening, Customer Contact Center, and with our network of Smart Offices where customers can contact an insurance agent or investment services advisor via live video feed. The Smart Offices are equipped with printers and scanners so documents can be signed and shared between the customer and the Generations team member with ease and security. Generations Agency is an independent insurance agency representing more than forty carriers. Generations Investment Services team offers customers more than 35 years of financial experience. Customers appreciate the hometown, full-service financial partner they have with Generations. The Generations team is proud to be named to the CNY Business Journal Best Places to Work in 2015 and 2016. For the coming year, we are looking back to our roots as New York State celebrates the Centennial of Women’s Right to Vote. After all, our first president, Jacob Chamberlain was one of the 32 men who signed the Declaration of Sentiments at the 1 st Women’s Rights Convention in 1848 in Seneca Falls.
