As an organization, we are philosophically and financially committed to providing our patients with the highest-quality health care at the most reasonable cost possible. We are also committed to providing that same standard of care to those without the means to pay for it. A few years ago, we were faced with a growing need for health care services in our community at a time when our industry was undergoing a significant shift. To rise to these challenges and remain true to our mission, we had to reexamine everything: facilities, technology, processes…enhancing anything that worked well and reinventing or reengineering where we saw opportunities for improvement. Now, with the benefit of hindsight, we can connect the dots and show you how far this course has led us.

As our industry transformed from a pay-for-service model to one focused on quality, efficiency, and outcomes, we worked to institutionalize excellence throughout our health care network. In the process, we extended our focus beyond the walls of our facilities to meet peoples’ needs in their own homes. We did this because we want to do more than treat sick and injured patients. We want to help people lead healthier, happier lives. To accomplish this, we needed to improve our capacity, patient flow, data visibility and community presence. We established the region’s largest Population Health initiative, which deploys HealthWise Health Coaches to educate and support the people of our community in achieving their health goals through lifestyle and behavior changes.
