The summer certainly sizzles in The Bronx and there are plenty of places to stay cool while enjoying the sun. Orchard Beach (or as we Bronxites call it, The Bronx Riviera) is a great place to take a dip and, starting in July, enjoy live music (see page 3). The Bronx is also known as the borough of parks and there are plenty of awesome programs to take part in from the New York Philharmonic to barefoot dancing. Wave Hill is not only offering great concerts during their free Sunset Wednesdays but if you want to recharge your proverbial batteries take part in Serene Thursdays with relaxing garden walks and meditation. Guess what? That Hawaiian vacation you’ve always wanted to take may just be a train ride away. The New York Botanical Garden’s latest exhibit is Georgia O’Keefe: Visions of Hawai’i offers an amazing exhibit and their Aloha Nights is the ideal event to take a date. Whether you are a native New Yorker or travelling from somewhere else, come and enjoy The Bronx and all it has to offer. C’mon! Let’s go to The Bronx!
