ABILITYIN YOUR DISABILITY

does that name ring a bell? This dude is a man Nick Vujicic: whom I admire so much. His real name is Nicholas James, an Australian Christian motivational speaker and evangelist born with phocomelia, a rare disorder characterised by the absence of legs and arms I believe that his life and achievements should ser ve as a challenge and encouragement to all who feels that they can never make it in life due to their disabilities and to those that are attempting to commit suicide because of rejection, frustration, depression and the likes.

Nicky was born in December 1982 without arms or legs, a great disability that would have made him miserable and discouraged from living a fulfilled life, like so many persons are today Unlike many, he came to understand that his disabilities are but obstacles that need to be set as stepping stones to his greatness and the achievements of his desired goals and fulfilment of his destiny In so doing, he built himself with this mind-set that "there are abilities in every of our disabilities, if only we could take out time to discover them". Before we proceed, I will like us to look into the word disability for a moment: what exactly does it mean to be "disabled"? According to the English dictionary, disability simply means deprivation or want of ability; the absence of competent physical, intellectual, or moral power, means, fitness and the like. Comparing the dictionary definition of disability and Nicky's lifestyle and achievements, you will agree with me that disability is much more than the mere absence of competent physical or intellectual ability, in that it involves the state of the mind.

Nicky's way of life serves as both a challenge and encouragement to all those who feel that suicide is the only way out of depression or life terrible experiences and to those who are offering excuses and blaming others for their failures. Despite suffering from issues with bullying and depression during his childhood, Nicky thrived in his teenage and young adult years. During his secondary school, he was elected vice captain of Runcorn State High School in Queensland and worked with the Student Council on fundraising events for local charities and disabilities campaigns— a guy without limbs or arms. Does this sound like a person with disabilities? When faced with life challenges and at the verge of giving up, the question we should always ask ourselves is, "Is this worth losing my joy?

Nicky believed and acknowledged that he and he alone was responsible for his happiness, success and failure in life, not the people around him, his appearance or his condition. He made up his mind to live a happy and fulfilled life despite his shortcomings or disabilities, as many will call it. He looked away from his physical appearance that beckoned for self-pity, depression and a life of a beggar and looked within himself, embracing the courage and self-confidence that he could do all things in spite of the signals that his physical body was giving to him. In Nicky, I find the fulfilment of the scripture, "I

can do all things through Christ that strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13) and through him, I discovered that, in every of our disabilities, there is an ability awaiting to break forth.

Let's take our minds off Nicky for a while and focus on you. What is your excuse for not wanting to push forward towards achieving that goal, vision or dream of yours? What is making you bitter, depressed and frustrated to the point that you feel taking your precious life is the only way out? What is that situation or challenge with which you are confronted daily? What are your disabilities that bullies use to down grade you or make you feel you are a nobody or a worthless fellow?

Nicky has no limbs, remember? Yet, stands tall. He rose above all his so-called disabilities that would have kept him down & made him live a life of self-pity, sorrow and pain. It obviously was not easy for him, but he choose not to surrender to self-pity and to the pity from friends and family members. He demonstrated a degree of independence despite his disability If Nicky could make it, what makes you think you cannot? Self-pity in itself is disability personified.

Let us be encouraged by Nicky's attitude and draw strength from his life experiences. Did I mention that he is the founder of the organisations "Life without limbs" and "Attitude is Altitude"? He is also happily married to Kanae Miyahara and blessed with two kids.

What do you regard as your disability? What do you feel is preventing you from achieving your goal, vision and purpose in life? “I cannot" is the attitude of a failure and a brother of "I don't want to". Stop saying you cannot. Stop feeling you cannot and quit thinking you cannot. Until you stop these, you can never achieve anything in life. Believe in yourself See every disappointment as a way to a better appointment and believe that there is an ability in every disability, waiting to break forth. Jesus Is Lord

THE NAMEOF JESUS

That at the name of Jesus

every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth (Philippians 2:10).

Ephesians 1:21 talks about the resurrected Christ, and made us understand that He is seated in the heavenly places, “Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age {and} in this world, but also in the age {and} the world which are to come” (AMP).

Here, the word “rule” means two things: first, it means the authority that governs; and secondly, it means the decrees by which it governs. It refers to rulership and its rules. Meaning that it doesn't matter what rule has been made, Jesus is far above all rules. He's set, not just above, or near above, but FAR above all rule, authority, power, and dominion. Hallelujah!

Therefore, when you use the Name of Jesus, there's no room for doubt. God didn't even say to use the Name only if you have faith. When it comes to using the Name of Jesus, it's a matter of authority and not just of faith alone. Think about this: While controlling the traffic,

the officer doesn't need any faith when he motions to the vehicles to stop. The faith that put him in office in the first place is all that he needs. And the Bible says, “…God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith” (Romans 12:3).

All the faith you need to come into Christ Jesus has been dealt to you. Now you have authority over every demon of darkness. You don't need somebody to help you cast the devil out today. In Matthew 17:5, we read God's testimony of Jesus; He said, “…This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.” This was addressed to everything that has intelligence, living and non-living things. God commanded them to hear and obey Jesus.

The same decree was given concerning you the day you were born again. All of nature, angels, demons etc., have been commanded to hear and obey when you speak, because you stand and speak in the authority of Jesus. When you make decrees or entreaties in the Name of Jesus, it's as though Jesus Himself were speaking. Therefore, be bold to use the Name of Jesus authoritatively, to control the circumstances of your existence and tame the forces of nature.

AUTHORITY IN THE NAME OF THE JESUS CHRIST

“For where two or three are gathered together in MY NAME, there am I in the midst of them” (Matt. 18:20).

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In MY NAME shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues” (Mark 16:17).

“And whatsoever ye shall ask in MY NAME, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son” (John 14:13).

“For whosoever shall call upon THE NAME OF THE LORD shall be saved” (Rom. 10:13).

“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS…” (Col. 3:17).

“Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in THE NAME OF THE LORD” (James 5:14).

PREVAILING MOTHER The

If I have done anything in life worth attention, I

feel sure that I inherited the disposition from my mother ~ Booker T. Washington (1856–1915)

It often happens that we cannot over-emphasize the good that our mothers have done for us. Worldwide, Mother's Day is a celebrated occasion. On that day, we seek to put aside all the heartbreak and pain we have encountered on our earthly journey, focusing on the gift of our mothers' love. Motherhood is like a flavor – a flavor that carries both the bitter and the sweet of life. Mothers rejoice in our triumphs and grieve in our suffering. They work, serve and sacrifice, so that we can live happy, healthy and fulfilling lives.

Being a Christian mother is very different from simply being a mother. As Christian mothers, we strive to uphold the Biblical mandates entrusted to us. In the Biblical worldview, the mission of parents is to raise children to follow God. To that end, God designed the family as the primary unit in which children are cared for, loved, trained and empowered. This requires patience, kindness and discipline. Being a Christian mother encompasses a great degree of tension. She must be kind, without forsaking Biblical expectations, and she must know when to let go of the children she has nurtured

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord will deliver us from them all. For many years, my only child was healthy and active. She played sports and represented her school in competitions and at sports events. While participating in her last competition, she suffered a minor heart attack. The doctor said she had a hole in her heart that will close overtime. She became greatly distressed by the different issues arising from her condition and, understandably, her complaints increased I continued to encourage her to pray and not to lose faith in God. Three months ago, all the tests relating to her heart condition came back normal. We gave God the glory for His work in her life. Two weeks

later, at the age of nineteen, she fell and inured her head and her mouth. When taken to hospital, she was diagnosed with high blood pressure, to the extent that the doctors were concerned about brain damage. I had to work very hard on restoring her faith in God. She had two brain scans, which both came back normal.

As Christian mothers, we must trust God. We have to believe that, as His words say, “All things works together for the good for them that are called according to his purpose”. W h e n e v e r o u r t r i a l s s e e m overwhelming it is the time we need t o p r a y m o r e W e s h o u l d consistently let our children see our faith, so that they can be reassured that God notices their circumstances – even when situations arise that ruin their aspirations and hope. God is still on His throne and He will restore all the years that have been stolen.

Raising GodlyCHILDREN

Ifyou'reaparent, youknowthisfightisreal.Children are undoubtedly a blessing from God, and we are tasked with teaching them about God, Jesus and how to live by God's principles. We are entrusted withtheireducationandwell-being,bothphysically and spiritually Unfortunately, as the gap between godly and worldly values widens, raising godly children can seem like an increasingly difficult challenge.

What can you do to safeguard your children in a worldwhoseprioritiesarewayoutoflinewithGod's Word? How can you protect them from the enemy whowantstousethisworld'ssystemtosteal, killand destroy their future? How do you teach them to chooseGod'swayandnotthewayoftheworld?

SafeguardTheirMinds

We live in a media-centric society, and there's virtually no way around that. So what can we do to protect immature minds from being inundated by messages that might stunt their spiritual development?

MonitorSocialMedia

Social media sites don't necessarily need to be blocked. However,it'simportantthatwebeawareoftheincreasingly violent and vulgar things children are exposed to on social media. To help, look to see if sites have parental controls to prevent exposing children to unsuitable topics and images. At the very least, we must monitor who our children are interacting with online and what they are viewing by reviewingtheiraccounthistory

MonitorMoviesandVideoGames

The Bible is very clear about filling our minds with good things. Philippians 4:8 tells us, “And now, dear brothers and sisters, onefinalthing.Fixyourthoughtsonwhatistrue, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Thinkaboutthingsthatareexcellentandworthyofpraise.”

ProtectTheirSpirits

Protecting your child's spirit starts in the home. The stronger your children's home base is, the easier it is for them to feel confident in their own values and beliefs. NightDevotion

Most of us have a ritual of nightly prayers with our children, tothankGodforthe day and to have a restful night. But consider making this a reflection of the morning's devotion as well. Ask your children what kind of negative scenarios they think they may encounter at school, in the neighborhood, or at church For example, they might tell you about another child encouraging them to do something they know is wrong.
