editor’s note I’m going to admit it. I’m dreaming of a White Christmas. Having done exactly zero shivering on any of my 33 Christmases so far, I’m looking forward to the day I can don a Bridget Jonesstyle ugly jumper and rug up for my favourite day of the year. This Christmas, I’m afraid I’ll be sweating it out with the rest of the Queenslanders, foregoing turkey and hot roasted nuts in favour of cold cuts and fresh seafood. Instead of eggnog, we will be sipping on Pimms or iced tea. No sledding for us – we’ll be toting our SUP boards to the beach instead.

Of course it’s quite delightful to have Christmas in summer in Australia, particularly in Queensland, where the weather Gods have blessed us disproportionately. I simply must make the effort to get to see that White Christmas of my dreams someday, though, so I’m telling you all so you can hold me to my word. If I’m not at least planning a White Christmas holiday by this time next year, I want you to all call me ridiculous. Thanking you in advance and wishing you all the Happiest of Christmasses.

Shelly Beach really turned it on for us, and the drone captured it in all its glory.
We were all rather enamoured by Tango, the horse.

Dreamy and textured, this voluminous loose hairstyle is both relaxed and elegant. Marlene’s striking lip colour is perfectly matched to the crimson blooms in her hair and bouquet.
Navy is the new black. Teamed with a
crisp white shirt and tie to compliment
the bride’s attire, it’s a classic look that is always a winner.
Marlene wears “Raquel”, a head-turning full lace gown by Judy Copley Bridal.
Apricot Juliette David Austin Roses, White
Ranunculus, Flax Flower, Grande Jubilee Roses,
Astilbe, and mixed winter seasonal blooms make up the bride’s absolutely beautiful bouquet.
Statement floral arrangements of grandiose proportions take an idyllic setting to the next level. Natural finish Hamptons-style chairs are a comfortable and stylish
provision for guests. The happy couple framed by a floraladorned natural wood arbour with that spectacular view making a superb backdrop.
Crystal glassware with touches of gold in the tablescape
and dark grey linen create the basis for the intimate dinner
setting on the stone cottage deck. Luscious, full fresh flower centerpieces bring colour and life to the occasion.
The understated hand-painted watercolour tiered
cakes in cool and warm neutrals, graduating to a crisp white are adorned with fresh flowers.
Rich and satisfying: a grazing platter good for
sharing, full of the most satisfying of indulgences.
