THESE POWERFUL AND COMPELLING NARRATIVES EXPLORE THE EMOTIONAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL RESPONSES TO LOSS, FROM SHOCK AND DENIAL TO ACCEPTANCE AND HOPE.

For Level 4 students studying film making, theatre making or acting, your dress code should reflect the professional standards of the creative industries you’re preparing to enter.Whiletheremaybesomeflexibilitydependingontheactivitysuchasrehearsals, on-set work, or meetings, you should aim to present yourself in a practical and professionalmanner.

FilmMaking

You’lloftenbeonset,inpracticalworkshops,movingequipment,orattendingmeetings with collaborators or clients, so your attire should be practical, comfortable, and professional.

TheatreMaking

As a theatre maker, your clothing needs to support hands-on creative work. Clothing should be appropriate whether you are constructing scenery and costume, designing, orphysicalstagingtasks.

Acting

Actors you should wear clothing that allows for full range of movement and minimal distractionsduringphysicalwork,withoccasionalne formalwearduringshowcasesorauditionsasandw required.

Independent learning is a way of consolidating knowledge, understanding and skills acquired in a lesson, as well as providing the opportunity for investigation or researchinpreparationfornewtopicsandtoextendandreinforcelearning. Our bursary fund provides some financial support to young people from less advantaged backgrounds, in order to help them meet the costs of participating in furthereducationandtraining.

Ifyouarelivingincare,acareleaver,arein direct receipt of income support or Universal Credit (in your own name), or are in receipt of Employment Support Allowance and also in receipt of Personal IndependenceAllowanceyouwillbeeligible toreceiveaBursaryof£1,200ayear.

If you are eligible for free school meals or yourhouseholdincomeislessthan£25,000 you may be eligible for a bursary of up to £850.

Health& Safety

Itisimportantthatallstudentslearntoworksafely when handling or operating equipment. We will provide training for all specialist equipment, particularly in our workshops, studios and technical spaces. Students must complete any required training before using certain tools or machinery.

We expect everyone to actively consider their working environment to ensure the safety of themselves and others. Keep workspaces clean and organised, and always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) where required.

If you are ever unsure how to operate a piece of equipment, do not use it and speak to a member of staff for guidance. Similarly, if you notice any equipment or workspace that appears unsafe or damaged, report it immediately and do not attempttouseorrepairityourself.
