“The Show” From 8:00pm on Saturday 31st August at Burleigh Town Tavern, “The Show” will feature some of the Gold Coast’s most talented original artists in the more main stream genres of Funk/Soul, Rock, Hip Hop and Pop-Rock. C.I.A.’s Andy Clark and Alicia Hennessy have been working around the clock to bring us this event, since their enormous success with Wallapalooza in June of this year, and have secured a great venue with Burleigh Town Tavern who are great supporters of the live music industry. Thanks to the main sponsor for “The Show”, Saligia Clothing, this will be a FREE event for everyone to come along and enjoy a great night of music and dance. There will be beauty services available for the ladies for a bit of pampering and make-up touches, and Burleigh Town Tavern is known for its food, so we recommend going a little earlier and enjoying a meal (light or a-la-carte) with glass of your favourite. Of the Gold Coast’s original music scene, Andy explains, “A lot of original stuff can be stereotyped and people have a preconception of what an original band is, thinking it’s all metal or just for the youth 18-20. The purpose of “The Show” is to get more of the community to come along and enjoy seeing a live show. This is the ideal line-up to build confidence with the venue and the community” The line-up is headlined by Madison Kat, an 8-piece Funk/ Soul band with a reputation of delivering an edgy and always entertaining musical and visual show (featured in the last edition of The Bizz). Velvet Ballroom just took out the 2013 Battle of the Bands earlier this month and it’s no surprise to us (see our initial write-up on them after we first them in the website archives).
