In addition, our management of one of Johannesburg’s leading venues, the Ticketpro Dome, has stood us in good stead to soon implement our expansion strategy for venue management in other regions of Africa.

Carol Weaving | Managing Director Carol brings to Reed Exhibitions, a diverse working background in the business, tourism and events industry. Over 30 years, Carolâ€™s career has expanded through many sectors within the industry, and her knowledge and expertise spans across marketing, exhibition management, events, conferences as well as venue and facility management. She was the first-ever female chairperson of the Exhibition and Event Association of Southern Africa [EXSA] and now chairperson of the Association of African Exhibition Organisers (AAXO), which was formed to provide a collective platform of address and representation for professional exhibition organisers throughout Africa. Thanks to Carolâ€™s continued passion, hard work, dedication and management, Reed Exhibitions is one of the largest and most successful exhibition and venue management companies in Southern Africa and is now in a position to grow its footprint across the African continent with many new ventures already underway or in the pipeline.

Richard Mortimore | CEO, Reed Exhibitions UK Richard Mortimore is CEO of Reed Exhibitions UK, part of Reed Exhibitions, the worldâ€™s leading event organiser. He joined Reed Exhibitions as Managing Director of the Travel division in May 2006 and was responsible for the global development of the portfolio of travel and meetings exhibitions as well as running the day to day operations of the group. He is now responsible for a global network of events including World Travel Market in London; Arabian Travel Market in Dubai; six luxury travel events in France, Japan, Brazil, South Africa, Mexico and China; Aircraft Interiors in Seattle; and The London Book Fair. With a background in business management and accountancy, Richard is well known for his former role as Director of International Sales for US Airways with overall responsibility for EMEA as well as a variety of roles for United Airlines and Virgin Atlantic. Richard is a strong advocate of exhibitions as a face to face opportunity for creating business relationships. During his time at Reed Exhibitions he has implemented a key account management strategy as well as providing high quality customer service and ROI.

Thabo Molefe | Director Thabo Molefe was appointed to the LexisNexis South Africa board in 2005. Over the years, his career has seen him assume responsibility for new-sales and marketing strategy, he also handles the development of customer markets and customer engagement models for LexisNexis South Africa, with the use of multiple sales channels, including direct sales teams, telesales and other. Managing customer relationships, go to market strategies and key accounts are key to his role.
Corinne Cunningham | Director Corinne Cunninghamâ€™s role as Finance and Commercial Director, Europe at Reed Exhibitions encompasses responsibility for finance, strategy & acquisitions and IT. She has worked for Reed Exhibitions for 7 years and has been with Reed Elsevier for nearly 20 - previously at RBI in both the UK and continental Europe Since 2013 her role has expanded to cover finance and strategy for the UK, MIDEM (France), Austria, Germany and Russia.
Mediatech Africa Mediatech Africa, co-owned by Sun Circle Exhibitions and Reed Exhibitions, is a biennial advanced media and entertainment technology trade show held in Johannesburg, South Africa. The expo showcases new technologies and services from industry leaders in AV system integration and communications; live entertainment technology; television and broadcast; animation and film; studio and production, DJ and pro-audio equipment.
We are positively impressed with this yearâ€™s show. There is so much to do and see, and everything is well organised. We have also seen a lot of people from outside South Africa visiting this yearâ€™s show, especially movie directors and people from large churches in Africa. It’s the ideal platform to stimulate business growth and motivate both current and aspiring entrepreneurs.
Tshepo Phakathi, Group CEO of Phakathi Holdings, and ambassador of the Small Business Expo 2016, whose KAELLO initiative promotes entrepreneurship and mentors thousands of aspiring entrepreneurs, believes that in light of growing unemployment and a tough economic climate, small business needs all the help it can get in order to thrive. Blue Wing Conference and Events Venue Gautengâ€™s premier venue, the Ticketpro Dome, has added a new venue facility, The Blue Wing Conference and Events Venue. This is a well-considered partnership between Reed Venue Management and Delmont Caldow Caterers, with Blue Label Telecoms as the naming rights sponsor. The new venue space is adjoined to the Ticketpro Dome with a foyer that allows for direct access into the main arena. It brings sophistication and functionality to an already well-established venue facility. The total venue size is 2 000 sqm, of which the foyer is 400 sqm, with the remainder sub divisible into 3 venues of which the largest is 680 sqm. The entire space can accommodate over 1000 guests in a cocktail & cinema style setup.
