AUSTIN’S AEROSPACE LEADERSHIP TEAM KEN STONE – VICE PRESIDENT & PROJECT EXECUTIVE Ken has 40 years of professional experience in aerospace and defense facility planning, architectural design, engineering, construction and overall project and program management – all with The Austin Company. His experience has included leading and serving on leadership teams for a number of major facilities programs for well-recognized companies and organizations, including The Boeing Company, The Department of Defense, The Department of Energy, Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems. Over the past 25 plus years, Ken has managed major programs for Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems nationwide. Most recently, he served as Project Executive on expansion projects at Northrop Grumman’s Melbourne and St. Augustine, Florida Centers of Excellence. He is currently leading a project team at the Space Park Center of Excellence in California. Ken received a Bachelor of architecture degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He has continued an active involvement with Cal Poly, currently serving on the Cal Poly Foundation Board of Directors. He has served twice as president of the Cal Poly Alumni Association, as well as president of the 23-campus California State University System Alumni Council. The Cal Poly Alumni Association awarded Ken its Distinguished Service Award for his service to Cal Poly and to the California State University.

DAN WIEGANDT, AIA, LEED AP – PROGRAM DIRECTOR OF AVIATION, AEROSPACE & DEFENSE As Engineering Principal for The Austin Company, Dan’s experience in the design and engineering of facilities supporting the aerospace industry is extensive. Dan has 38 years of professional experience in planning, design, engineering and construction; 29 years with The Austin Company. This experience includes planning, design, engineering and construction of numerous aerospace facilities for clients, including The Boeing Company, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, NASA, Raytheon and related organizations, as well as considerable work for the Federal Aviation Administration.

Dan received a Bachelor of architecture degree from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He is a Registered Architect in multiple states and a national member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Dan holds a Quality Assurance Certification in accordance with The Austin Company’s ASME NQA-1 compliant Quality Assurance Program, has received numerous recognitions for his professional achievements, and is a member of the International Code Council. Dan’s experience has provided him with a thorough working knowledge of design and construction procedures from inception through engineering, estimating, scheduling, procurement and construction. He has demonstrated the ability to accomplish successful results for facilities programs based on a unique combination of technical knowledge, practical judgment and overall management skills.

DONNA LORENZEN, PE, LEED AP BD+C – CHIEF MECHANICAL ENGINEER As Chief Mechanical Engineer for The Austin Company, Donna has considerable experience in the design and engineering of facilities for the aerospace and defense industry. Donna has over 29 years of professional experience in the design and engineering of mechanical systems; 26 years with The Austin Company. This experience includes the design and engineering of multiple aerospace and defense facilities projects. Donna received a Bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She is a registered Professional Engineer and LEED® Accredited Professional. She holds a Quality Assurance Certification in accordance with The Austin Company’s ASME NQA-1 compliant Quality Assurance Program. Donna has received recognition for her professional achievements from the Orange County Engineering Council and has been commended by the United States Department of Energy for her accomplishments in Sustainable (energy efficient) Design. As Chief Mechanical Engineer, Donna is responsible for the interpretation of design programs, criteria, and client input. Her duties include supervision of engineering design and construction document production to assure conformance with project requirements, good engineering practice, codes, standards, regulations and quality assurance. AUSTIN’S AEROSPACE LEADERSHIP TEAM JIM MARTIN, PE, LEED AP – CHIEF ELECTRICAL ENGINEER As Lead Electrical Engineer for The Austin Company, Jim’s experience in the design and engineering of facilities for various industries is considerable. He has 47 years of professional experience in the design and engineering of electrical systems, all with The Austin Company. Jim holds a Quality Assurance Certification in accordance with The Austin Company’s ASME NQA-1 compliant Quality Assurance Program. He has received numerous recognitions for his professional achievements and commitment to quality and excellence, and has been commended by the United States Department of Energy for his accomplishments in Sustainable (energy efficient) Design. As Lead Electrical Engineer, Jim is responsible for all phases of electrical design, including preliminary concepts, field surveys, short circuit, overcurrent device coordination and equipment evaluation studies, detail specifications, and preparation of electrical detail drawings comprising power generation, power distribution, lighting, HVAC control, fire alarm, public address system, energy management, lightning protection, grounding systems and telecommunication systems. His duties include supervision of engineering design and construction document production to assure conformance with project requirements, good engineering practice, codes, standards, regulations and quality assurance. OMAR SHEIKH, SE, PE, LEED AP – CHIEF STRUCTURAL ENGINEER As Lead Structural Engineer for The Austin Company, Omar is involved in all phases of structural engineering, including the design calculation, details of building components, equipment foundations, and utility supports. He is familiar with current building codes and standards, and is familiar with a wide spectrum of structural analysis software. Omar has 15 years of professional experience; 12 years with The Austin Company. Omar received his Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering (emphasis in structural engineering) from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from the University of San Francisco. He is a registered Professional Civil Engineer, is certified as a LEED® Accredited Professional, and is affiliated with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). Omar served as structural engineer support for the Northrop Grumman, Melbourne Center of Excellence, B228 Program Offices and Labs, and St. Augustine Center of Excellence B100 Aircraft Assembly Center. ERIC MARX, RA – ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF DESIGN As an Architect for The Austin Company, Eric is responsible for the production of architectural working drawings and coordination with the structural, electrical and mechanical sections. He has experience in planning, design, program analysis, schematic site study and design, production and coordination of design development and construction drawings, preparation of presentations, and construction administration. Eric has 14 years of professional experience, all with The Austin Company. He has been involved in all aspects of architecture, from preliminary design through construction documents and construction administration.
