Winter Newsletter

We cannot believe it’s time to release our Winter Newsletter as yet another theatrical year has flown in! We hope you have enjoyed 2010 as much as TSP and it looks like 2011 will prove to be yet another showstopper!!!

Rehearsals are now well underway for our March 2011 spectacular, The Wedding Singer! With our new production team ensuring the cast are put through their paces, we welcome back Julieann Crannie in the role of choreographer and Alan Fraser as Musical Director. We are equally thrilled that they have been joined by past performing members Derrick Pearce, the oracle of organisation, in a TSP first as this year’s Producer and Jennifer Donald, our dazzling Director, who, having recently qualified in Acting and Performance from Langside College brings new dramatic perspective and skills to the club.

Our stellar cast promise to take you on an unforgettable journey back to 80s. Led by Robby (Jonathan Collins), Sammy (Kevin McGuire), George (Christopher Glasgow), Julia (Vicky Grieg), Holly (Fiona Wilson), Glen (Daniel Sedgwick), Rosie (Mélanie Morrison), Linda (Joanne McLean), and Angie (Amy Burns), and matched by an all singing, all dancing ensemble, The Wedding Singer will have you partying like its 1986!

We would also like to take this opportunity to welcome the wealth of new members to our club and hope your first performance with TSP is truly unforgettable!!!

The TSP Wedding

Despite lacking in numbers, our first fundraiser, The TSP Wedding was a success, raising £600 for our forthcoming production. Thanks to all the cast who contributed so generously to our raffle and auction, and a particularly special mention to our decorator Joanne McLean, our resident Chef, David Whitehill for another phenomenal buffet, to Iain Runciman for providing the cheesy tunes, Heather Charnley and Lorna Williams for our wonderful wedding cakes and, to top it all off, Gillian Shaw, for ensuring the party continued well into the following morning!

TSP Burns Supper

As we progress into the New Year, preparations are well underway for our annual Burns Supper. This event has always proved a huge success for the club and we are so confident that 2011 will be no exception, we have moved to the Eastwood Suite of The Redhurst Hotel to ensure a luxurious and sophisticated evening for all! With table service, homemade haggis, neeps and tatties, an overflowing bar, raffle, auction, and riotous ceilidh and disco, our celebration of the Bard’s big day is not to be missed!!! Tickets are £12 each and we urge you to bring as many family and friends along as possible!

Zumba and Dancersize

Who needs a gym membership when our fantastic choreographer Julieann Crannie is offering a double bill of Zumba and Dancersize for only a fraction of the price and 10 times the fun?!

Classed run every Monday in the Clarkston Scout Hall with Zumba from 6:15 and Dancersize from 7:00.

This is open to the public so please feel free to spread the word outside TSP and bring as many friends along as you desire!
