THEATRE AGE A group for the upliftment of slum children.
Chandigarh, the abode of Gods, is gifted with abundant natural beauty having invaluable tourist destination..
Our “CITY BEAUTiFUL” , inspite of its planned scenic beauty, also has various backward & impoverished areas. In these slum areas, illiteracy is very high. So are unhygienic conditions of living and lack of awareness. Children drop out of school and work as cobblers, rag pickers, sweepers… Theater Age is devoted for the upliftment of these chidren since 1992..
Child labor is prevalent everywhere around us...
Unfortunately, it goes unnoticed by many...
Theatre Age is a humble attempt to enable under privileged children to carve their own niche in the world.
To prevent slum children from being forced to work, Theatre Age rehabilitates them and introduces a new perspective through theatre workshops.
Simultaneously, Theatre Age operates an evening school to provide education to these children
Recently, 15 children associated with Theatre Age have passed the 8th and 9th grade examinations with flying colors.
