DIANE DURDEN (NARRATOR #1) Returning to the theatre after a brief absence, Diane is excited to be working with Rob and Betty again. She’s missed you all terribly and is happy to be home again. Her passion for the theatre will keep her involved in various capacities throughout the year. Now if only she could get The Kid to the theatre…

AESOP’S OH SO SLIGHTLY UPDATED ABLES – MEET THE CAST ED MANSON (MILLER) has been involved at Theatre 29 for several years, and has acted in over 12 productions including the previous show WALMARTOPIA, as the Vermonter/Ensemble. Edward has also been putting his theatrical skills to use behind the scenes, as Stage Manager, Sound Technician, Stagehand, and Properties Master in various shows. In GODSPELL, he took on the challenge of being the Assistant Director and hopes to someday try his hand at directing. For now he is glad to be back on stage this season, where he loves to be whenever he can. Photography by Betty Wanless

NICHOLAS SMITH (DOG/FOX) This is his third play with Theatre 29. He played Charlie in THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER and The Steward in INTO THE WOODS, JR. He is glad to be back on stage and enjoys being back with a lot of his fellow cast members. He is currently in eighth grade, and hopes to “grow up” into the field of astronomy.

MACKINLEY STEWART (BUTCHER) This is MacKinley’s 2nd show at Theatre 29. His debut was as The Wolf in the musical INTO THE WOODS, JR. He is a 16 year old currently attending 29 Palms High School for his Junior year. His favorite past time is playing the guitar. He would like to thank his mother and family for all of their support.

NATALIE COUGHLIN (GIRL #1) Our youngest cast member, Natalie is six years old and attends Oasis Elementary. This is her second play at Theatre 29. She loves to sing and act in front of an audience so she is grateful we have a local theatre.

SHILOH WHEATON (POND) is an 11 year old in Mr. Bryant’s sixth grade class at Palm Vista Elementary School. She has one younger brother and one younger sister. She says, “I have done zero plays, this is my first one.” We’re looking forward to seeing her in future plays.

IZRAEL TULI (NARRATOR #2) better known as Izzy has performed in many skits for church and Improv at 29 Palms High School. This is his second actual show, his first being A WHITE CHRISTMAS IN THE BLACK BOX. He offers many things like hard-work, dedication, and a positive attitude. Izzy enjoys making people smile and laugh. He wants to thank everyone for all of their support.

HUNTER STEPP (HARE) This is Hunter’s third production at Theatre 29. She made her debut as Imogene Herdman in THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER. She was also in THE DINOSAUR MUSICAL ensemble. She is an 8th grader at 29 Palms Junior High School and a member of several school organizations. She is grateful to play this part and would like to thank her family and friends for their support

AESOP’S OH SO SLIGHTLY UPDATED FABLES – MEET THE CAST JESSICA LOMELI (TORTOISE) is a senior at 29 Palms High School. She has been actively involved in seven productions at Theatre 29 since 2007. Her experience includes both on stage and backstage, as well as different classes and workshops. Her most recent role was Mama Lucredzia in THE DINOSAUR MUSICAL, but her most favored role was Jan in GREASE. This is Jessica’s last production before moving on to Santa Barbara City College where she plans on majoring in theater. She will miss Theatre 29 greatly. Jessica wants to say, “Poke an eye out,” to her cast mates and crew members. She would like to thank everyone she has worked with in the long run and the Wanless family for giving her the opportunity to do one last show. Photography by Betty Wanless

ADAM REDMON (LOUNGE SINGER / GRUMPY OLD GUY) is 24 and has been in several shows including ANNIE, OKLAHOMA, ONCE UPON A MATTRESS, NUNSENSE II, and FOREVER PLAID. He loves working with all the wonderful people at Theatre 29 whenever he can. He wants to thank his friends and family for support.

TAYLOR ZIMARIK (REPORTER #1) is proud to be a part of this production and would like to thank the directors for casting her. She is currently a seventh grader at 29 Palms Junior High School. She thanks her friends for their support, as well as, her father, sister, and brother for encouraging her. And none of it would be possible without her mom’s support and driving her around.

ENELIKO TULI (REPORTER #2) This is Enliko’s first play with Theatre 29, however he is not a newcomer to performing. He has volunteered for plays at church and is a member of the Youth Praise and Worship Team. He has also performed Polynesian dancing. Enliko enjoys football, track, basketball, and baseball. He would like to thank his mom, dad, grandma and grandpa. God is good!

KAYLEIGH COUGHLIN (MOUSE) is a fifth grade student at Oasis Elementary. This is her fourth play at Theatre 29. You may remember her as Princess Lucille in JUNIE B. JONES AND A LITTLE MONKEY BUSINESS or Ollie, in THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER. Her latest performance was as a Freedom Fighter in THE DINOSAUR MUSICAL. Kayleigh also enjoys singing, dancing, and sports.

MARISSA THOMAS (GRAPES) This is Marissa’s second performance at Theatre 29, though it is her on-stage debut. Her first role may have scared you as one of the Master’s daughters in Theatre 29’s 2009 Halloween Haunt THE HAUNTED MANSION. When she’s not acting, Marissa is a 6th grader who also enjoys riding her motorcycle and drawing. She is looking forward to her time on stage and hopes this is just one of many productions to come.

TREVOR LYNNE EVANS (GIRL #2) loves to be on the stage. This is Trevor’s second play. She enjoys the process of becoming a character. Trevor hopes to participate in as many plays as possible in the future.

VAIOLETI TULI (NUMBER BEARER #2) is a Mellow but passionate man. He loves soccer, football and Basketball. He also sings with the youth praise and worship team, performing with his siblings, dancing and singing. He thanks God for all his blessings and thanks his mother and father for believing in him.

NOAH GRYN (MILLER’S SON) will be making his theatrical debut during this production. He has had a strong interest in acting and production since a very young age and aspires to become a producer some day. He has had some experience with narrating church plays and looks forward to exploring the performance side of the stage. Noah hopes to make this a fun starting point for future endeavors.

MYTOYA PRITCHETT (WOMAN #1) A long time resident of 29 Palms, made her debut as a maid in the THE MIRACLE WORKER. She is more comfortable being a stagehand. She’s a loving wife & mother of 1 child. Mytoya works at 29 Palms Jr. High teaching step dancing. She also makes beautiful word working in her spare time and volunteers everywhere. She is glad to be back volunteering at Theatre 29!

DIANA JIMENEZ (DONKEY) This is Diana’s second appearance at Theatre 29. She has gone from playing a boy in THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER to playing a donkey. When Diana isn’t at Theatre, she is a 6th grade student in Mr. Art’s class at Palm Vista Elementary. She also plays basketball, volleyball, and tennis.

JASMINE SMITH (ACTIVIST #1) This is Jasmine’s first time being on stage at Theatre 29. She is very outgoing, creative, and is into sports. Jasmine has played tennis for over 3 years now. She is looking forward to being a part of this production and part of Theatre 29..

NENA JIMENEZ (ACTIVIST #2/MAID) has been a part of Theatre 29 since 2006. This is her fifth time on the stage. Nena is in 8th grade and looks forward to many more shows at Theatre 29. She also enjoys jazz and ballet with her dance instructor Miss Andrea.

HANNA HOWARD (CHICKEN #1) This acting debut is a dream come true for eight year old Hanna who has been entertaining friends and family since the day she was born. She continues to excel in school allowing her to pursue her passion for acting. Her desire to make people laugh and enjoy life will certainly continue as she looks forward to participating in many more local theatre performances.

ALISAH SPARKS (CHICKEN #2) This is Alisah’s second production with Theatre 29. She was last seen playing Beth in THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER. She loves to act and dance. Alisah is looking forward to having a career in theater.

AMY FANGMEYER (UNDERSTUDY) is 12 years old and attends Mr. Bryant’s class at Palm Vista Elementary. She has three brothers a fish and a few dogs. She loves her pets and all animals, but didn’t mention whether she even liked her brothers. This is her theatrical debut and is looking forward to having a fun time.

MICHAEL WANLESS (LION) hasn’t done anything with theatre in years, because he’s been busy going to school and looking for a job. His last performance was TEENS IN TINSELTOWN and some may remember him as Anne Sullivan’s Professor in THE MIRACLE WORKER. His family is happy have him in this production.
