ASSEMBLY PERFORMANCES: Garbage Is My Bag An award winning performance by Jack Golden as the comedic “expert,” Dr. T With A “Ph.D. in Garbology,” a zany and irresistible personality and a marvelous Trash-to-Treasure-o-matic Recycling Machine, he juggles and jokes his way through a world of waste. Dr. T. delights his audiences while sharing his knowledge that rubbish is a resource that is just too good to throw away. Since 1989, Garbage Is My Bag has helped hundreds of thousands of children around the country explore serious issues about our wasteful habits. Garbage Is My Bag presents children with rewarding and important ways they can directly contribute to their communities. Water Water Everywhere fills elementary and middle school students with information about one of the most valuable resources on earth. Using mime, juggling, magic, jokes and song, combined with a wonderful and engaging character, Water Water Everywhere covers topics on water composition, point and non-point source pollution, conservation, water cycles and ground water quality. The information in the show is accurate, pertinent and delivered in a theatrical style students and teachers will thoroughly enjoy. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Jack Golden, creator of Garbage Is My Bag and Water Water Everywhere, has been a professional variety artist since 1981. He has performed with the world-famous Pickle Family Circus of San Francisco and the award winning “New Vaudeville” comedy troupe, the Wright Brothers. Since 1989 he has been performing theatrically acclaimed educational programs throughout the country in schools, theaters and festivals. In 1991 he won the Excellence in Environmental Education award from the Environmental Protection Agency.
Though these two shows are significantly different programs, they both use comedic theater, audience participation and curriculum based information with the goal of strengthening new attitudes and responsibilities toward our common resources. Grade Level/Maximums: Technical Requirements: Total Fee:

WORKSHOPS: Jack Golden offers dynamic and active workshops teaching students a variety of theater skills including mime, improvisation, balancing and juggling. Students learn how theater skills can be used to communicate ideas to others. Students also gain self esteem and accomplishment.
