Executive Message / Contacts

Co-owner loses weight with AIM products Dear AIM Members, I hope this message finds you well and that you are all ready to get back to making your list of people to call, e-mail, fax, and text, updating them all about the new AIM CoCoa LeafGreens™ and the all new AIM fit ‘n fiber® apple-cinnamon. As I stated from the stage to 200-plus smiling AIM Members at our July convention in Boise, Idaho, an easy and safe way to lose weight and not lose muscle mass is to take one tablespoon of AIM BarleyLife® or CoCoa LeafGreens, one tablespoon of AIM ProPeas™ , one tablespoon of the brand new fit ‘n fiber, and mix into almond milk and crushed ice. Voila! A morning smoothie

breakfast — or even lunch or dinner. With this, you can enjoy your new lifestyle of losing weight the safe way. How do I know this? Last winter, I tested the new, improved fit ‘n fiber in my morning smoothie, and I lost twenty-five pounds. I retained my muscle mass, using ProPeas, and I retained my energy, using BarleyLife. If I can do this, all of you can do this. AIM Members, let us all be proud of our lifeextending health products, and let the world know that we have the answer to their obesity and poor health problems. Together we can keep The AIM Companies™ growing and moving forward in business for another thirty-one years. Have some fun sponsoring new AIM Members and telling them how to lose weight and be healthy and wealthy. They will love you for this. Best wishes,

Tastes great!

fit ’n  fiber fit ’n  fiber

for a healthier YOU!

You can help yourself get in shape from the inside out with new AIM fit ’n fiber™ applecinnamon. This fiber and herb formula offers a combination of psyllium, oat, potassium alginate, beet root, organic aloe, gentian root, and buckthorn bark, along with organic apple fiber and cinnamon. In addition to AIM Herbal Fiberblend®, fit ’n fiber provides a healthy choice for supplementing your fiber intake every day.

fiber Fiber is a type of carbohydrate that has few calories. Your body doesn’t digest it for nutrients like other carbohydrates. It uses fiber as an internal cleanser. The fit ’n fiber combination of soluble and insoluble fiber, primarily from psyllium and oat, relieves irregularity and promotes a healthy digestive system, which helps to keep your immune system working optimally.

soluble and insoluble fiber Insoluble fiber moves through your intestinal tract like a scrub brush, bulking up and helping to eliminate any material not required by your body. Soft, soluble fiber, which becomes a gel when mixed with water and digestive enzymes, acts like a sponge that absorbs harmful substances while helping to regulate blood sugar and reduce cholesterol. It 4 I 1-800-456-2462

also slows down the movement of food through the intestines, which contributes to the feeling of having enough to eat. This makes fit ’n fiber a fitting formula for any weight management program.

how much fiber? The importance of a high-fiber diet for overall good health was established in the 1970s, primarily through the efforts of Dr. Denis Burkitt. After working as a surgeon in Africa for twenty years, Dr. Burkitt reported that he rarely saw patients who had common Western-culture health problems, including constipation, gallstones, hemorr hoids, diverticulitis, adult-onset diabetes, and coronary heart disease. Dr. Burkitt determined that it was the large amount of fiber in their diets that made the healthy difference, and he became known as the “Fiber Man” who promoted the preventative benefits of a high-fiber intake. Why is it that over forty years after Fiber Man first appeared on the scene to save people from fiber deficiency, the majority of the North American population still does not get enough? According to WebMD®, the average fiber intake of adults is only 15 grams a day, but the recommendation is for at least 25 grams daily for women and 38 for men. Since our ancestors ingested anywhere from 50 to 100 grams of fiber daily, the more you get, the healthier it is for your body.

Providing 14 grams of fiber in two servings, fit ’n fiber apple-cinnamon lets you easily “fit in fiber” on a daily basis.

Support is a key factor in

weight loss Shared by

Barbara Yoder, Preferred Member Sugarcreek, OH

After my son was born last July, I gained a lot of weight. I was nursing and knew I had to diet in a healthy way by eating the right foods to maintain my milk supply. In December, I spoke to Royal Emerald Director Karen Miller, who said her grandmother was having a weight loss meeting through AIM. I was very interested and decided to attend the day of the meeting. I learned a considerable amount. Eating smaller portions worked great for me. The first two to three weeks, I kept a journal of what I ate, including my AIM products, and counted my calories until I knew my limits. I drank lots of water. Drinking as many ounces of water as half of what you weigh is important each day. After one week, I lost seven pounds. I was elated! I had two shakes per day of AIM ProPeas® and AIM fit ‘n fiber®, which I used as meal replacements. I some times added frozen peaches. It made a very refreshing drink. Other times I had an apple, banana, grapefruit, or an orange with my shake. I ate a lot of salads the first couple weeks, but later on I ate more of what everyone else

ate, just smaller portions. I took one to two AIM GlucoChrom™ capsules before meals to help assimilate sugars or if I ate sweets. Exercise was very important for me. Whenever weather permitted, I went on a ten- to twenty-minute walk, spring-cleaned my house, and occasionally helped with chores in the barn. The additional AIM products that I used were the AIM Garden Trio®, once a day; AIM Herbal Fiberblend® and fit ‘n fiber, one to two times a day; AIMega®, four a day; and CalciAIM™, once a day. Support is a big factor in weight loss. Thanks to Royal Emerald Director Marlene Miller for letting me be part of her class. It helped so much to be in a group, not just by myself. Thanks also to my husband and children for supporting me. In the three months of the class, I lost 30 pounds. I feel absolutely great, and I would recommend these products to anyone! We give all the honor to God! NOTE: Barbara used the peachflavored fit ’n fiber. Now available in the improved formula with an applecinnamon flavor.

Making a difference …

CoCoa LeafGreens’ delicious blend of healthful greens and antioxidant-rich cocoa has been a smashing success. Not only is CoCoa LeafGreens the besttasting AIM product ever, it supports a healthy lifestyle with an alkalizing effect on body pH and an immune boost from a diverse set of antioxidants. AIM Members the world over are singing the praises of CoCoa LeafGreens. Join them by adding this delicious product to your next order, and let us know what a delicious difference cocoa makes.

From the first taste, I was hooked. The richness of the cocoa, yet smoothness of the drink, just delighted my senses. Fully expecting it to have some sort of aftertaste, or slight hint of green, I was amazed and pleasantly surprised to find neither— just a pure, delightful, chocolate surprise. I say surprise because who expects something so healthy to be so good. My initial thought was how fabulous this would be as an evening snack before bedtime. So early on I began taking it in the middle of the evening hours and was instantly amazed at how much more relaxed I was by bedtime and how much deeper, longer, and more consistent my sleep was. I’ve always taken the LeafGreens before supper in the evening and experienced remarkable changes in my sleep from day one, but the CoCoa LeafGreens seems to have even more dramatic effects on my sleep pattern.

From the first time I began taking LeafGreens two years ago, I noticed a marked alteration in my allergies. I began from day one moving through all of the extreme seasonal pollens in Central Texas, with absolutely no reaction whatsoever. The winter before starting LeafGreens, I had suffered through six weeks of cedar allergy alone, with two trips to the doctor as it was so severe. I’ve gone through two winters now on the LeafGreens with complete freedom from this annoyance not only in winter, but all year round. This product has so remarkably changed my life, I tell everyone I meet. The new CoCoa LeafGreens is just going to make that so much easier with its delightful taste and greatly enhanced antioxidant benefits! I encourage anyone who needs a night of more restful sleep, or who suffers with any type of seasonal allergies, to make CoCoa LeafGreens or LeafGreens a consistent, forever player in your daily regimen. —Bettiann Lloyd, Director from Austin, Texas

2014 Convention/Contest

Oh the stories Savannah could tell The Hostess City has seen its fair share of American history on its streets and in its neighborhoods. When you visit Savannah, you can experience one of the most history-rich cities in the South. Explore this cultural touchstone with your AIM family, May 20th to 24th, 2014, when the AIM convention heads to Savannah! Here is but a taste of the history you can see firsthand:

Explore American Revolution battlefields and Civil War forts Sites like Fort Jackson and Fort Pulaski are steeped in American history and replete with activities. Take Fort McAllister. This Civil War outpost is at the center of a 1,725-acre park, which features a museum and exhibit hall as well as access to nature trails, fishing, geocaching, and more.

Tour majestic mansions and elegant plantations The architecture at Savannah’s historic homes is a must-see. Start at the home where Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of the Girl Scouts, was born. The building has been restored and furnished to depict the 1870s style and Victorian-era architecture. And no home tour would be complete without visiting the Owens-Thomas House, a National Historic Landmark considered one of the finest examples of English Regency architecture in America. The parterre garden and original carriage house are spectacular.

Walk back in time through a Savannah museum So many to choose from! The Georgia State Railroad Museum displays an extensive collection of steam engine, locomotive, and railroad exhibits on the site of the oldest antebellum railroad manufacturing facility in the United States. The National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force features planes and memorabilia from an air brigade that has been active since World War II. The Telfair Museum of Art houses American and European paintings and sculptures in a 19th century mansion, complete with era-specific furniture. Plus, you can explore a Civil Rights museum, a maritime museum, and many more.

Experience Savannah’s Historic District At the heart of the Historic District lies the City Market, a four-block area renovated to reflect the city’s old open marketplace. There you can find artist lofts, open-air cafes, theme shops, and stores, all hearkening back to Savannah’s origins. All this and more awaits you in Savannah at the 2014 AIM Convention. We can’t wait to experience it all with you! There is so much to see in Savannah, you might want to stay an extra day or two!

The AIM Companies™ has been delivering Nutrition, Opportunity, Success since 1982. The middle word is Opportunity, a perfect term for your AIM business. But are you utilizing the opportunity in diversity? Take a look around your community. Whether you live in a small town, a large city, or somewhere in between, you live in a diverse society! In July 2013, Direct Selling News reported that, according to marketing executive Miriam Muléy, 90 percent of the population growth in the United States comes from the Latino, African-American, and Asian populations. (In Canada, population growth has also produced cultural diversity.) As the CEO of the 85% Niche (marketing consultancy), Muléy focuses on tapping into the full power of female buyers. One of the most relevant traits of what Muléy refers to as the “emerging population” is that these consumers purchase a disproportionate amount of health and wellness products. The buying power of this diverse group is nearly four trillion dollars. This is more than the combined economic buying power of Brazil, India, and Russia. Muléy stated, “Diversity offers a tremendous upside for growth, especially as the traditional mainstream markets begin to decline in size and begin to age. There are multiple ways to look at the benefit of diversity.” What does this mean in terms of growing your AIM business? 8 I 1-800-456-2462

There are many sides to diversity, including age, culture, and occupation. By looking at the occupational factor, you have an opportunity to begin exploring the diversity of jobs that expose millions of people to toxic chemicals on a daily basis, including hairdressers, janitors, landscapers, and firefighters. Contact groups related to such occupations (for example, a hairdressers association) to get mailing lists for sending newsletters. Even retail salespersons and cashiers are exposed to a thin layer of bisphenol A (BPA), a hormone-disrupting chemical that coats the receipts they handle every day. Think of the healthy difference that AIM BarleyLife could have on people in a wide variety of toxic jobs. As for opening the door into cultures different from your own, check out local, cultural fairs. Begin with a friendly “Hello!” and be open to exploring cultural differences that can introduce new worlds to you. As well, AIM has bilingual employees who speak either Chinese, French, or Spanish, so we can help you through these language barriers. Keep in mind that what we all share in common as human beings is a strong desire to have good health and wealth for ourselves and the people we love. AIM can be a factor in achieving these basic goals for all.

during 11.6-mile hike No soreness post-hike, thanks to AIM Mag-nificence™ Shared by Bob Celski, AIM Director, Federal Way, Washington I recently had the occasion to hike the Highline Trail in Glacier National Park. The trail starts at about 4,200 feet, goes for 11.6 miles, and ends at about 6,500 feet on the continental divide in Montana. I hiked with two other gentlemen, one half my age—I’m fifty-seven—who is a hiker, and another who is about three to four years younger than me and an avid long-distance road biker. Now, I love to hike, but the last time I did anything of significance was over three years ago. The time before that was about six years ago. As always, I started my day with the AIM Garden Trio® and my regimen of AIM nutrition. We began hiking about 9:00 a.m., with me in the lead on a very steep grade. I had so much energy, I pulled away from these two guys who are in quite good shape. I kept having to wait for them, and once they caught up, I’d quickly pull away from them again. Neither of them could believe it. It was a warm, dry day, and along the way, I took another serving of AIM BarleyLife® and two servings of AIM Peak Endurance® and CalciAIM™ mixed in sixteen ounces of water. I couldn’t contain the energy! I led the party to a time of 4 hours, 44 minutes in 11.6 miles at altitude. We weren’t racing, just moving along quickly. Aside from the energy, I felt no effects of the altitude while, by comparison, they were breathing heavily.

The story gets better. In the past, every time I hiked strenuously, afterward I was extremely stiff in my thighs, knees, and hips. This is because I hold nothing back and go all out. I hike so infrequently that the next day my thighs are so stiff and sore I can barely walk. So, I thought I’d test out AIM Magnificence™ because I knew I would hike hard and pay the price. When I returned to the place I was staying, I immediately poured one quarter cup of Magnificence crystals into the bathtub and soaked for twenty-minutes. I could feel my legs relaxing. By the time I came out of the tub, I felt absolutely no soreness, stiffness, or pain in my legs or joints. This is amazing – the first time this has ever happened to me! My wife, Sue, and I feel the AIM products are a cornerstone of our lives. And now we have yet another product to add to the lineup. I am a true believer in the powers of magnesium, in the form of Mag-nificence! Thanks for continuing to put out the best nutritional products anywhere!

GlucoChrom’s Sugar Destroyer

AIM has a successful history of combining natural ingredients for a synergistic effect that makes the key ingredient even better. The chromium in AIM GlucoChrom™ is a key, essential micronutrient for enhancing the actions of insulin—the blood sugar regulator. Without chromium, insulin cannot stimulate the uptake of glucose by cells so that the sugar can be used or stored as energy. AIM could have produced a chromiumonly, natural health product. Instead, research revealed three additional ingredients that make a more effective, nutritional team for helping to regulate blood sugar levels. So in addition to chromium, the GlucoChrom formula includes vanadium citrate and bitter melon fruit along with Gymnema sylvestre—the sugar destroyer.

Gymnema Sylvestre Leaf Extract A climbing plant native to India, gymnema sylvestre has been used as an Ayurvedic medicine to treat diabetes for over 2,000 years. GlucoChrom contains a 4:1 leaf extract that provides this herb’s primary active compounds—gymnemic acids—that enhance blood sugar reduction. Gymnema is deservedly nicknamed the sugar destroyer—the translation of its Hindi name gurmar. Evidence shows that gymnema can suppress sugar cravings and reduce the taste of sweetness. For those with a sweet tooth or blood sugar issues, this herb may be just the thing to help reduce sugar intake. 10 I 1-800-456-2462

The food and drink choices we put into our bodies determine the type and amount of sugar that ends up in our blood. Ingesting too much sugar can be bad for you on many levels: weight gain, body acidity, inflammation, and diseases like diabetes. Even with such health risks, many people need help in controlling their hunger for sweetness from chocolate, desserts, sodas, or other sugar-filled delights. Gymnema can help to put you in control. Having taken GlucoChrom on and off since 2006, I have ordered it in my AMR for the past several months. Part of the reason why I take GlucoChrom is that it has helped to suppress my sugar cravings, which used to be an issue for me. It also helps to regulate my blood sugar levels. As a Member for over eight years, I believe in taking AIM products, such as GlucoChrom, the AIM Garden Trio®, and AIM ProPeas™, to maintain good health. I owe AIM Director Pietro Michael a debt of gratitude for introducing me to AIM. On a final note, Living Well is one of the few magazines that I read regularly. It’s inspirational. —James Beliak, Preferred Member North York, Ontario Testimonials should not be construed as representing results everybody can achieve.
