Act on what you believe and make a difference All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them. —Walt Disney

a comedian, and a pro athlete—you find a common thought: one person acting on what he believes and trusting in himself to make a difference.

If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door. —Milton Berle

For AIM Members, the opportunity to personally succeed and assist others with health and financial concerns is as alive and well today as it was thirty years ago at the founding of the company. AIM was built on and prospers with the action of one person sharing with another.

I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games; twenty-six times, I’ve been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. —Michael Jordan From three diverse walks of life— the founder of Disney theme parks,

A few months back, I wrote about a Member being a light. It was not just some idle thought. There is not enough darkness in the world to extinguish a single candle. AIM has always honored the vision and inspiration of our Members, as candles of hope and opportunity. I can’t count the number of successful Members AIM has recognized over the years on their pathway to success. But I can tell you this: Not one of them was shown the opportunity without someone caring enough to show them the way. In partnership for life,

The Answered

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and one of our AIM Royal Emerald Directors, who has been cancerfree for sixteen years, recognizes the importance of health awareness and nutrition to heal the way. Linda Cole never considered for a moment that she would ever be diagnosed as having breast cancer even though it happened to her best friend, Jonni Sue Johnson. Linda witnessed the effects of chemotherapy and radiation that her friend underwent to kill the cancer. Jonni passed away within a year’s time. Linda’s health had been affected by a childhood of disabling allergies and by severe digestive problems as an adult. At the age of fifty, she had osteoporosis, her x-rays revealing the fragile bone structure of someone elderly. Working as a teacher’s assistant for eighteen years had worsened her health from spending so much time in the elementary school’s tiny Xerox room. “It was like being a canary in a coal mine,” recalled Linda. A week after quitting her job in October 1996, Linda went for a routine physical that revealed a marble-sized lump in her breast. After the initial shock of being diagnosed with breast cancer, Linda Cole was sure of only one thing: she wasn’t going to have the same treatments that her friend Jonni had twelve years previously. Following the successful surgical removal

4 I 1-800-456-2462

of all traces of the lump, Linda decided to find alternatives to conventional methods of dealing with breast cancer. Ironically, her husband David was a pharmaceutical representative who had been trained to sell drugs to doctors for their patients. Having seen his wife’s friend die after chemotherapy and radiation treatments, he and Linda prayed for healing answers. “When you put your foot on the alternative side of medicine, you spend the rest of your time, life, and money trying every alternative method,” said Linda, “But not all of them work. Dave knew from his pharmaceutical background that it had to be bioavailable.” The Cole’s prayers led them to Idaho and The AIM Companies™. Linda started with greens, one of AIM’s three Daily Essentials. “AIM BarleyLife® provided easily absorbed nutrients that every cell in my body needed. And it doesn’t have to be digested,” explained Linda. She added a second Daily Essential: fiber from AIM Herbal Fiberblend® to cleanse and detoxify her plugged colon. “When people say ‘You’re full of crap!’ … you are.”

October | Breast Cancer Awareness Month David and Linda began going to AIM conventions and met Members such as Chairman’s Club Director Janet Pauly, who became a victor over cancer with the help of BarleyLife and other AIM products. Testimonials from Janet and so many others confirmed that their prayers had been answered. Among the many AIM products that have contributed to her health improvements over the years, AIMega®, the third component of the Daily Essentials, provides her body with a daily supply of omega-3 and -6—essential fatty acids that are vital for healthy cell structure and function. “AIMega keeps me well-oiled with good fats that every cell in my body desperately needs to keep me in good health,” remarked Linda. “It’s all about healthy cells.”

David and Linda celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary aboard AIM's 30th anniversary cruise.

In hindsight, Linda recognizes that all of her health issues were warning signs of something deadlier down the road. “I saw a National Geographic photo of an elephant’s behind with a bumper sticker that read, ‘If you can read this, you’re following too close.’ We don’t read the signs,” stated Linda. “Symptoms ignored long enough get you into serious trouble.” Along with taking AIM products, other lifestyle changes were necessary. Linda became a vegetarian, sold their freezer, and shopped only in the fresh produce sections of supermarkets. “I eliminated acidic foods, drinks, and thoughts from my life.” Grateful to God for living in the Pacific Northwest, where she was raised on a steady diet of hiking, backpacking, and camping, and for her newly found strength and energy, Linda exercised regularly—an aspect of the Healthy Cell Concept. Over the unhealthy years, she had gained sixty pounds, but now the weight was dropping off. “People who knew about the cancer noticed the extreme weight loss and immediately thought I was dying,” joked Linda, “but at the same time, they couldn’t understand why I looked so healthy.” Even her bone density improved.

She firmly believes in the AIM Healthy Cell Concept and the power of its fifth element: a healthy mental attitude. As one of life’s best medicines, laughter contributes greatly to your mental attitude, and so for Linda, laughter is also a daily essential. This means that you cannot have a conversation with her that doesn’t include a chuckle or two. Linda Cole generously shares her beliefs, especially concerning the importance of taking personal responsibility for your health. As a living advertisement that cancer can indeed be beaten, she has shared the benefits of a lifestyle that includes AIM products with family, friends, and even complete strangers. This generosity has resulted in her earning an income by sharing products that she is passionate about. Linda’s passion is understandable whenever people consider the healing effect that AIM has had on her life. “I’m a cancer victor,” exclaimed Linda, “not a cancer survivor.”

AIM partnership helped Steve & Connie Knight, Chairman’s Club Directors

Directors Dr. Mary Ruth Swope, Janet Pauly, and a list that goes on and on. Thank you all for your willingness to share with others, for even though you may not have gotten an immediate financial reward, I know that the Lord has blessed you abundantly.

Steve and I were among some of the original DITBIBs — ”Didn’t Intend To Be In Business”. Though we didn’t intend to build a business, we thought AIM’s barley grass product would help others, so in 1985 we took advantage of a visit from our sponsors, Dan and Louise Erceg, a two-week visit that turned into a stay of several months. We hadn’t had a TV in our home for three years. Uncle Dan came with a TV and VCR, so we made appointments with one to three people every day for two weeks. We showed them a video of Janet Pauly’s first talk, shared at an AIM meeting in Idaho. All guests either bought product or signed up, buying a six-pack or more. The excitement grew, and though we had obstacles, such as all products being ordered by snail mail, we qualified at the Director level—7,200 BVP back then—in just four weeks. Steve and I recognized the importance to work wide and deep to have a successful business. We had fifteen personal Directors when we entered qualification for Chairman’s Club, which we reached in about three and a half years. We were richly blessed. In July 2012, we joined the Three Million Dollar Club. We praise God that Uncle Dan and Aunt Louise did not give up on us.

We want to thank our upline and downline and The AIM Companies™ for joining us in this awesome opportunity and giving us the support and encouragement to be “go-getters”. We also want to thank AIM members outside of our organization, including Chairman’s Club 6 I 1-800-456-2462

Our downline’s suc cess has been achieved by those with high-level degrees and those with little education, such as our good friend, Eugene Baldwin, who recently passed at the age of ninety. Eugene’s de sire to help people brought him to Blue Diamond Director. My wish is for all of you to have downline like our good friends Sandra and Wayne Combs (Chairman’s Club Directors), who always look on the positive side and give words of encouragement and come up with innovative ways to work with people. All of you are truly family to us, and we always look forward to the AIM Convention “family reunion.”

Favorite Products

We are our own best customers, using most AIM products. AIM BarleyLife®, AIM Herbal Fiberblend®, AIM Proancynol® 2000, AIM CellSparc 360®, and AIMega® top our list.

Health Results

Immediately, I got more energy from AIM’s green powder but was skeptical, thinking it was due to endorphins from being enthusiastic. Wrong! Energy dropped when I quit taking it. I had circulatory problems for five years, allergies, and some autoimmune issues, all of which were overcome with AIM products. Our son Erik finally found the answer to his allergies that had plagued him since infancy.

d to fulfill heart’s desire Our daughter Shannon became a gymnast and amazed her coaches with her stamina and endurance. She was named the best female athlete for all eight semesters of high school and became a great advertisement for us. Even our daughter Angel, who wasn’t always faithful taking the products, received great relief if she came down with the flu, which had become non-existent for the rest of us.

Pet Health

We have always turned to BarleyLife and other AIM prod ucts when facing a health crisis with our pets, both domestic and wild. In April, we came home from the AIM 30th anniversary cruise to find our dog, Lucy, very ill, and the prognosis was not good. We loaded her up with BarleyLife and turned to our friends to join us in prayer. Lucy made a full recovery, to the amazement of our vet and is friskier than ever.

Ministry We have always thought of our AIM business as a ministry, and because we were faithful

in sharing good health opportunities with others, the Lord has blessed us with wealth. Our focus was helping others, and by helping others reach the top, we found ourselves there, too. I gave up my nursing career to give full attention to sharing AIM health and wealth. Since it was actually costing him money to work, Steve stepped back from his landscaping and grading business as well. As for earning potential, the sky’s the limit with AIM. The success we achieved in our partnership with AIM enabled us to fulfill another heart’s desire and that was to be active part-time in a missionary capacity. We have served in the Bay Islands of Honduras, Costa Rica, Vijayawada— Andrah Pradesh—India, and this year in Zimbabwe, Africa. We especially want to thank Dennis and Kay Itami, Ron and Opal Wright, and Chairman’s Club Directors Jim and Carolyn Kling for their vision. You were the original “go-getters” who paved the way for us to grab hold of this wonderful opportunity. We are for ever indebted to them. AIM Para 90

A parasite cleansing supplement

AIM Para 90®, the 30-day parasite cleanse product from AIM, has undergone some minor modifications to the formula in an effort to improve the efficacy of the product. The early results, from Members like AIM Chairman’s Club Director Mary-Ann Shearer from Gordon’s Bay, South Africa, tell that the changes to Para 90 have definitely been for the better. “My digestion is more comfortable with less constipation and gas and better and more regular bowel function,” Mary Ann said. “This new version tastes better. The old Para 90 gave a terrible after taste, so I actually stopped using it. This one does not spoil my meals. “This product feels more efficient. Neither my husband Mark nor I have noticed any negative changes.” —Mary-Ann Shearer, Chairman’s Club   Director and Author

Are your Vitamin D levels on target? Take Veggie and CalciAIM for more Vitamin D AIM

D ™

Increasing the amount of vitamin D you consume on a daily basis can have benefits like calcium absorption, disease prevention, immune system boost, and strong bones. Most people would love to experience benefits like these, but few take the extra step to do anything about vitamin D consumption. The average American has a blood serum level of just 22 nanograms per milliliter (ng/mL). They need to have a minimum of 40 ng/mL for optimum health. Additionally, about 65 percent of Americans over the age of 50 either have low bone mass or osteoporosis and vitamin D deficiency is one of the main contributing factors. Increasing the amount of vitamin D in your diet is a step in the right direction, and AIM Veggie D™ and CalciAIM™ help make vitamin D recommendations a reality. One serving of Veggie D contains 500 International Units (IU) of vitamin D. The mushroom and vegetable mix is a savory blend of whole-food nutrients. CalciAIM, a citrus drink mix, counts magnesium, zinc, copper, and vitamins A, C, and D among its many nutrients. CalciAIM contains 283 IU of vitamin D per serving. Vitamin D intake was the focus of a recent inhouse study conducted by The AIM Companies™, and the results show the importance of the sunshine vitamin and the benefits of supplementation with Veggie D and CalciAIM. Participants took Veggie D and CalciAIM as a supplement to their regular diets and recorded their vitamin D levels at the beginning and end of the trial (vitamin D levels are measured by a blood test). Veggie D and CalciAIM added a combined 1,566 IU of vitamin D2 per day—the form of vitamin D that comes from a vegetable source. Over an eight-week period, this daily boost helped increase the group’s vitamin D levels by over 37 percent (or from 24 to 33 ng/ mL). If these individuals continued this regimen,

they would reach the minimal optimum target of 40 ng/mL in just six more weeks. Notably, the main increase in vitamin D came from the D2 in Veggie D and CalciAIM and not the more common D3, which is obtained by the body through sunlight exposure, fish, and milk. Supplementing with Veggie D and CalciAIM can significantly improve the vitamin D levels in the body. North Americans consume an average of just 216 IU of vitamin D each day and current recommendations have increased to 1,500 to 2,000 IU daily. Two servings of Veggie D and CalciAIM per day gets most of us to where we need to be. When you take care of the body on the inside, the benefits begin to be noticed on the outside. One of the participants reported great strides in energy and mood after the increase in vitamin D consumption. “When the trial began, I was tired and lethargic a lot and had some lingering effects of depression,” the participant said. “Now that the trial is over, I do have more energy and feel more positive about things. I don’t feel blue nearly as often, and I haven’t had brain fog in a few weeks. “I feel much more energetic. I now see how important adequate vitamin D intake is to health.” —In-house study participant

There comes a time in every woman’s life when her body goes through changes that signal the end of her reproductive years. During this transition, a woman experiences a natural shift away from regular cycles of ovulation and menstruation, which creates hormonal fluctuations. When a year passes without having a period, it marks the completion of menopause. The duration of the menopausal transition varies from one woman to another. Menopause symptoms may include night sweats, hot flashes, heart palpitations, insomnia, and mood swings. The severity of symptoms is not the same for everyone, and each woman copes in her own way. Putting up with symptoms, seeking medical treatment, or undergoing lifestyle changes are individual choices. Women who choose medical treatment may be prescribed antidepressants, blood pressure medications, or anti-seizure drugs, depending on the severity of menopause symptoms, overall health, and personal preferences. Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) has been used to treat menopause symptoms since the 1960s. Begun in 1991, the Women’s Health Initiative study revealed that HRT increased the risk of a variety of serious conditions, including blood clots, heart attack, stroke, and breast cancer. This treatment is now called hormone therapy (HT), and it is still being recommended for severe menopause symptoms. In the Healthy Cell Concept™, The AIM Companies™ believes that simple lifestyle adjustments can help you to ease or avoid any uncomfortable symptoms. Physical activity is a positive move for overall good health. Relaxation helps as well; for example, deep, slow breathing at the onset of a hot flash can lessen the severity and duration. A change of diet can also minimize menopausal symptoms according to the “Recipe Doctor” Elaine Magee, author of Tell Me What to Eat As I Approach Menopause. In fact, proper 10 I 1-800-456-2462

nutrition may be the single most important factor in maintaining overall good health. And taking several AIM products is a simple and effective way to fortify your nutritional intake and breeze through menopause with few or no symptoms.

AIMega® Balancing your hormonal fluctuations begins with the balanced 2:1 ratio of omega-3 and-6 essential fatty acids (EFAs) in AIMega®. EFAs are vital for the production of hormone-like compounds called prostaglandins, which help to regulate many of the physiological functions in your body, including hormone production. AIMega’s organic seed oils ensure that you are supplementing your diet with a natural, plant-derived source of the essential fatty acids that your body cannot produce on its own, yet needs daily for hormonal balance.

Menopause AIM RevitaFem®

The plants of the earth have been providing medicinal benefits for “whatever ails you” since the beginning of time. AIM RevitaFem® is a plant-based formula that supports physical and emotional balance during menopause and provides relief from the discomforts that can be associated with this important life passage. Unlike synthetic compounds that can produce negative side effects, RevitaFem contains herbal sources of phytoestrogens and supporting herbs, each addressing specific issues that occur in the female body during the menopause transition.

AIM Renewed Balance® For additional balance during the meno pause years, AIM offers a soothing body cream made from plant-derived ingredients that work synergistically. Used by our Members for more than sixteen years, AIM Renewed Balance® contains progesterone, aloe leaf juice, avocado oil, carrot root extract, rosemary leaf extract, and other ingredients that fol low our ded ication to natural and bene ficial products .

2012 AIM RevitaFem Survey Testimonials My hot flashes improved and also the heart palpitations that I was suffering with through the night, waking me up and causing nausea. I recommended RevitaFem to a friend with similar symptoms, and she is thrilled with her improved quality of life and general well-being. Amanda Van Rensburg, Preferred Member Honeydew, South Africa I have been using Renewed Balance since my mid-forties, and it made a tremendous improvement in my quality of life. Then I started taking one RevitaFem capsule a day and experienced a definite uplift in my mood—I felt happy! Muscle testing showed that my body would like two RevitaFem capsules a day, which improved my level of happiness even more. I have been taking RevitaFem regularly since AIM introduced it, and if I miss a couple of days, I notice my contentment declining. Connie Correll, Preferred Member Coloma, Wisconsin I’m forty-seven years old and have used RevitaFem on and off for a few years now. I find that when I stop taking the product, I notice the symptoms of hot flashes and night sweats recur rapidly. I have been through menopause. I had my last period in January 2011 and find my symptoms much improved when I take this product. Cindy Ponchot, Star Sapphire Director Lebanon, Ohio RevitaFem and Renewed Balance were my miracle products when I started menopause. is Sandy Combs, Chairman’s Club Director, from Debary, Florida. Her experience with the AIM Academy has helped rejuvenate her business and has given her the credibility she needed to reach others. “The AIM Academy is feeding the new beginning that I have chosen to take with my AIM business. “I just dropped off product yesterday to two hardsell people who are very much into modern medicine. However, the modern approaches, which also include over-the-counter vitamins, are not working for them. They now want to listen to what I have to say about the nutrients in AIM’s whole food concentrates. “These two people are suddenly more interested in listening to me since I received a Living Well Coach certification from AIM. One of them is a PhD. I guess she needed to feel like she was talking to someone who had some kind of certification. “I am encouraging more people to go through the AIM Academy. Completing the Academy courses helps you feel more confident knowing about basic human biology and how the AIM products feed the body. I am discovering how so many Directors and Elite Directors do not understand the AIM Compensation Plan. The business section in the Academy is a must for all Members.” 12 I 1-800-456-2462

Adding AIM products to online tea business grew commission checks!

The Gilley family from left: Julia, Geoffrey, Charles, Debbie, Audrey, Carolyn, Melody with Seth in back.

uilding a business with AIM products can take many forms. There are businesses built through home meetings, close-knit communities, testimonies, and much more. Director Debbie Gilley from Cumming, Georgia, built her business on tea. An AIM product user for twenty-five years, Debbie recently began selling the products and tapping into AIM’s generous Compensation Plan. She did so on the coattails of her online tea store. Debbie has been selling Sands Tea and Herbal Blends on her website since March 2011. Her parents, Directors Merle and Sue Palmer, suggested adding AIM concentrates and supple ments to the online shop to take advantage of the existing infrastructure and customer base. “My parents have been AIM members since the 1980s,” Debbie said. “Their overall health alone would convince anyone of the positive impact using AIM products have on total wellness. They passed on this health heritage to me.” Within five months, Debbie went from Wholesale Member to Director, month after month her commission check continues to grow. The tea business began as a way for Debbie to seek new opportunities with a product and concept that she enjoyed. She says it best on her website: “(Tea parties) are about stepping away from the busyness of life and taking a moment to find peace. It’s about sharing a few moments with those around me—creating memories so that I can cherish them later when they’re gone.”

The picture of a relaxing tea party is juxtaposed with Debbie’s busy home life. She is the mother of eleven kids, each of whom she has homeschooled. Five kids remain in the house and in school with her. “Total wellness is a daily priority for any busy mother,” Debbie said, “and the enzymes, essential amino acids, and rich antioxidants in AIM BarleyLife® give me the immune system support that I need to feel good and get me through the day. “I have been taking BarleyLife since the 1980s. I found that green barley juice provided the daily nutrition I needed during my fourth pregnancy. It provided not only energy but also calmed morning sickness and indigestion that I normally have during pregnancy. BarleyLife was also an important part of my nutrition after each birth for nursing and recuperation. “Seven children later, I’m still a devoted BarleyLife fan.” Other members of her family benefit from AIM products, too. Her husband, Charles, takes AIM CellSparc 360®, AIM GinkgoSense™, and AIM ReAssure® SP. Her daughter, Melody, is gluten intolerant and uses the AIM gluten-free products in her baking. Debbie’s other children who are involved in sports and athletics take AIM Peak Endurance® for their energy needs. Even the family dog, Mr. Darcey, enjoys BarleyLife and AIMega® in his food. Testimonials should not be construed as Mr. Darcey representing results everybody can achieve. October 2012
