October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and one of our AIM Royal Emerald Directors, who has been cancerfree for sixteen years, recognizes the importance of health awareness and nutrition to heal the way. Linda Cole never considered for a moment that she would ever be diagnosed as having breast cancer even though it happened to her best friend, Jonni Sue Johnson. Linda witnessed the effects of chemotherapy and radiation that her friend underwent to kill the cancer. Jonni passed away within a year’s time. Linda’s health had been affected by a childhood of disabling allergies and by severe digestive problems as an adult. At the age of fifty, she had osteoporosis, her x-rays revealing the fragile bone structure of someone elderly. Working as a teacher’s assistant for eighteen years had worsened her health from spending so much time in the elementary school’s tiny Xerox room. “It was like being a canary in a coal mine,” recalled Linda. A week after quitting her job in October 1996, Linda went for a routine physical that revealed a marble-sized lump in her breast. After the initial shock of being diagnosed with breast cancer, Linda Cole was sure of only one thing: she wasn’t going to have the same treatments that her friend Jonni had twelve years previously. Following the successful surgical removal

of all traces of the lump, Linda decided to find alternatives to conventional methods of dealing with breast cancer. Ironically, her husband David was a pharmaceutical representative who had been trained to sell drugs to doctors for their patients. Having seen his wife’s friend die after chemotherapy and radiation treatments, he and Linda prayed for healing answers. “When you put your foot on the alternative side of medicine, you spend the rest of your time, life, and money trying every alternative method,” said Linda, “But not all of them work. Dave knew from his pharmaceutical background that it had to be bioavailable.” The Cole’s prayers led them to Idaho and The AIM Companies™. Linda started with greens, one of AIM’s three Daily Essentials. “AIM BarleyLife® provided easily absorbed nutrients that every cell in my body needed. October | Breast Cancer Awareness Month David and Linda began going to AIM conventions and met Members such as Chairman’s Club Director Janet Pauly, who became a victor over cancer with the help of BarleyLife and other AIM products. In hindsight, Linda recognizes that all of her health issues were warning signs of something deadlier down the road. “I saw a National Geographic photo of an elephant’s behind with a bumper sticker that read, ‘If you can read this, you’re following too close.’ We don’t read the signs,” stated Linda. “Symptoms ignored long enough get you into serious trouble.” Along with taking AIM products, other lifestyle changes were necessary. Linda became a vegetarian, sold their freezer, and shopped only in the fresh produce sections of supermarkets. “I eliminated acidic foods, drinks, and thoughts from my life.” Grateful to God for living in the Pacific Northwest, where she was raised on a steady diet of hiking, backpacking, and camping, and for her newly found strength and energy, Linda exercised regularly—an aspect of the Healthy Cell Concept. Over the unhealthy years, she had gained sixty pounds, but now the weight was dropping off. “People who knew about the cancer noticed the extreme weight loss and immediately thought I was dying,” joked Linda, “but at the same time, they couldn’t understand why I looked so healthy.” Even her bone density improved.

She firmly believes in the AIM Healthy Cell Concept and the power of its fifth element: a healthy mental attitude. As one of life’s best medicines, laughter contributes greatly to your mental attitude, and so for Linda, laughter is also a daily essential. This means that you cannot have a conversation with her that doesn’t include a chuckle or two. Linda Cole generously shares her beliefs, especially concerning the importance of taking personal responsibility for your health. As a living advertisement that cancer can indeed be beaten, she has shared the benefits of a lifestyle that includes AIM products with family, friends, and even complete strangers. This generosity has resulted in her earning an income by sharing products that she is passionate about. Linda’s passion is understandable whenever people consider the healing effect that AIM has had on her life. “I’m a cancer victor,” exclaimed Linda, “not a cancer survivor.”

Steve and I were among some of the original DITBIBs — ”Didn’t Intend To Be In Business”. Though we didn’t intend to build a business, we thought AIM’s barley grass product would help others, so in 1985 we took advantage of a visit from our sponsors, Dan and Louise Erceg, a two-week visit that turned into a stay of several months. We hadn’t had a TV in our home for three years. Uncle Dan came with a TV and VCR, so we made appointments with one to three people every day for two weeks. We showed them a video of Janet Pauly’s first talk, shared at an AIM meeting in Idaho. All guests either bought product or signed up, buying a six-pack or more. The excitement grew, and though we had obstacles, such as all products being ordered by snail mail, we qualified at the Director level—7,200 BVP back then—in just four weeks. Steve and I recognized the importance to work wide and deep to have a successful business. We had fifteen personal Directors when we entered qualification for Chairman’s Club, which we reached in about three and a half years. We were richly blessed. In July 2012, we joined the Three Million Dollar Club. We praise God that Uncle Dan and Aunt Louise did not give up on us.

My wish is for all of you to have downline like our good friends Sandra and Wayne Combs (Chairman’s Club Directors), who always look on the positive side and give words of encouragement and come up with innovative ways to work with people. All of you are truly family to us, and we always look forward to the AIM Convention “family reunion.”

Pet Health


We have always turned to BarleyLife and other AIM prod­ ucts when facing a health crisis with our pets, both domestic and wild. In April, we came home from the AIM 30th anniversary cruise to find our dog, Lucy, very ill, and the prognosis was not good. We loaded her up with BarleyLife and turned to our friends to join us in prayer. Lucy made a full recovery, to the amazement of our vet and is friskier than ever.

Ministry We have always thought of our AIM business as a ministry, and because we were faithful

in sharing good health opportunities with others, the Lord has blessed us with wealth. Our focus was helping others, and by helping others reach the top, we found ourselves there, too. I gave up my nursing career to give full attention to sharing AIM health and wealth. Since it was actually costing him money to work, Steve stepped back from his landscaping and grading business as well. As for earning potential, the sky’s the limit with AIM. The success we achieved in our partnership with AIM enabled us to fulfill another heart’s desire and that was to be active part-time in a missionary capacity. We have served in the Bay Islands of Honduras, Costa Rica, Vijayawada— Andrah Pradesh—India, and this year in Zimbabwe, Africa. We especially want to thank Dennis and Kay Itami, Ron and Opal Wright, and Chairman’s Club Directors Jim and Carolyn Kling for their vision. You were the original “go-getters” who paved the way for us to grab hold of this wonderful opportunity. We are for­ ever indebted to them. Increasing the amount of vitamin D you consume on a daily basis can have benefits like calcium absorption, disease prevention, immune system boost, and strong bones. Most people would love to experience benefits like these, but few take the extra step to do anything about vitamin D consumption. The average American has a blood serum level of just 22 nanograms per milliliter (ng/mL). They need to have a minimum of 40 ng/mL for optimum health. Additionally, about 65 percent of Americans over the age of 50 either have low bone mass or osteoporosis and vitamin D deficiency is one of the main contributing factors. Increasing the amount of vitamin D in your diet is a step in the right direction, and AIM Veggie D™ and CalciAIM™ help make vitamin D recommendations a reality. Notably, the main increase in vitamin D came from the D2 in Veggie D and CalciAIM and not the more common D3, which is obtained by the body through sunlight exposure, fish, and milk. There comes a time in every woman’s life when her body goes through changes that signal the end of her reproductive years. Adding AIM products to online tea business grew commission checks!

uilding a business with AIM products can take many forms. There are businesses built through home meetings, close-knit communities, testimonies, and much more. Director Debbie Gilley from Cumming, Georgia, built her business on tea. An AIM product user for twenty-five years, Debbie recently began selling the products and tapping into AIM’s generous Compensation Plan. She did so on the coattails of her online tea store. Debbie has been selling Sands Tea and Herbal Blends on her website since March 2011. Her parents, Directors Merle and Sue Palmer, suggested adding AIM concentrates and supple­ ments to the online shop to take advantage of the existing infrastructure and customer base. “My parents have been AIM members since the 1980s,” Debbie said. “Their overall health alone would convince anyone of the positive impact using AIM products have on total wellness. They passed on this health heritage to me.” Within five months, Debbie went from Wholesale Member to Director, month after month her commission check continues to grow. The tea business began as a way for Debbie to seek new opportunities with a product and concept that she enjoyed. She says it best on her website: “(Tea parties) are about stepping away from the busyness of life and taking a moment to find peace. It’s about sharing a few moments with those around me—creating memories so that I can cherish them later when they’re gone.”

The picture of a relaxing tea party is juxtaposed with Debbie’s busy home life. She is the mother of eleven kids, each of whom she has homeschooled.
