My inspiration for this photo was the subject itself. I just stumbled upon it and found the colors and shapes interesting. I was also inspired by the conflicting ideas of death and growth. Title: Back to Nature

Aaron McGregor “If I see an oil mosaic shining on top of a puddle, I feel compelled to photograph it. My most recent series of photographsstudytheindustrialeffectsinnature,most notable the environmental damage that coal mining has had on our waterways. An example of this impact results in iron rich, orange streambeds called“Yellow Boy”. Finding beauty in the horrible stems back to my childhoodwhereIgrewupinapost-industrialcityalong the Allegheny River.These rusted factories in various stagesofdecaywouldbethebackdropforwildflowers dancing in the cracks of pavement.”
