Back Pain Relief Stretches - The Kundalini Chiropractor For Relieving Back Pain Almost all cases of back pain are caused by muscle imbalances. The only effective method for relieving the pain that muscle imbalances cause is stretching the stiff muscles. In this article about back pain relief stretches you will find out about a very powerful yogic stretching exercise. This exercise is popularly named “the Kundalini Chiropractor” because of its ability to correct all types of back problems. This exercises is thousands of years old and our ancestors used it to develop strong and flexible backs. What is the exercise? The exercise is called cat-cow because of its alternating poses which resembles the poses of a cat and a cow. This is a exercise that both stretches the stiff and strong muscles of the back and at the same time strengthen the weak and undeveloped back muscles. The best thing is that everybody can do it, no need to be a flexible Yogi. How to do it? Begin the exercise by standing on all four. Your palms are on the ground about shoulder width apart with the fingers pointing forward. Your knees are directly in line under your hips. Then inhale and tilt your head back and at the same time flex your spine downwards the floor. This is the cow posture. Then exhale and lower the head to the chest and at the same time flex the spine upwards, like a cat. The exercise is done in sync with the breath as it is deciding the tempo. Start doing it slowly and as you get warmer speed up the tempo. Begin practicing it for 3 minutes a day and increase the time as you get the hang of it. This is a exercise that stretches and strengthens the entire back. It’s very powerful and don’t be surprised if your back pain is gone after you have tried it.

If you want to get into the latest craze in fitness and fun, we have the lowdown on Zumba!
by Bec Kerta
Let’s face it, we all know working out is good for us and can improve our health and quality of life immensely but sometimes doing the same thing over and over can also get uninspiring and a little tedious. After hearing numerous ravings from customers of The Healthshack about a new fitness craze called Zumba and how it has completely transformed their mid-sections (as we all know mid-sections are your enemy after kids and your 30th birthday!) I grabbed my tween daughters, my sister and a sense of adventure and we hit our first Zumba class. Zumba fuses hypnotic Latin rythms and easy-to-follow dance moves to create a workout that will blow you away! The room was packed with the most diverse group of women I have ever seen, the fit, the not-so-fit, the young (the youngest being my 9 year old) and the not-so-young (I’m guessing 60ish). The instructor’s huge grin throughout the class was contagious and the only reason I knew I was really putting my body through it’s paces was the fact I was dripping with sweat after only 15 minutes! The moves were easy once you got the hang of them and the music was fantastic. We went to a class with Tamara at Stafford but you can check out all available classes on google and at only $10 for the adults and $5 for the kids it was great value and I loved it so much I’m going again tonight!. But if you don’t want to take my word for how awesome this class is here are a few facts about the power of Zumba; “As of May 2010, the Zumba program is being taught at over 600,000 locations in 105 countries, has sold millions of DVD’s and has changed the lives of Zumba Fanatics worldwide with an astonishing 7.5 million participants taking a Zumba class every week”. Why? Because it’s the best party around!
