Coleman returned August 9 to say his first Mass and greet old friends and parishioners since becoming bishop of Fall River last month. According to a story in The Spectator written by Editor George Austin, Bishop Coleman talked very fondly about growing up in Somerset Village, and was warmly greeted by the congregation who presented him with mementoes of his life in the parish, a miter for his Episcopal duties, and hosted him at a reception. While the bishop said there were larger churches in his hometown, "Yet I don't believe one

could find any church with believers of stronger faith than at S1. Patrick's," he told the gathering. "For me, S1. Patrick's is the heart of the Village." The bishop's family was among the parishioners in the early years of the parish, his grandparents married there in 1884 and his father was baptized there. "S1. Patrick's was an integral part of our life and our family and played an integral role in the families of the Village," Austin quoted the bishop as saying. Father Marc Tremblay, the pastor at S1.
