Since ordination, Father Canuel has served as an assistant in parishes in Westport, Fall River. New Bedford and Attleboro. On Sept. 20, 1960, the New Bedford pastor was appointed adminis~rator of St. Hyacinthe's Parish, New Bedford. He succeeds the late Rev. Adrien Gauthier, who died March 20 1962.
