OUT& Children dance about up a storm at charity ball
By Emma Hatton MASSEY JOURNALISM STUDENT
The storm rolling in last Friday night could not stop more than 120 people coming out for a children’s charity ball at The Dowse Art Museum in Lower Hutt. The ball was put on by community group Greenstone Doors, an organisation that provides support and assistance to families and children.
While the weather was sour, the mood was not as ballerinas and a jazz band gave dance classes which got party-goers into the swing of it. The line for face-painting did not seem to shorten and dance breaks were only taken to re-fuel on cupcakes and juice. Event organiser Hayley Jeffrey said the night had been a success and hoped the ball could become an annual event fundraiser. Kailami, 5, and Romeo and Luca, 16 months, from Wainuiomata.
