OUT& Quiz night about helps young diabetics

Eighteen teams comprising over 120 people packed 1841 Bar and Restaurant in Johnsonville on Sunday night, July 9, to take part in a quiz night fundraiser for Diabetes Youth Wellington (DYW). Organiser Bridget Pope was elated and thankful: “Everything ran really smoothly. We had some great helpers on the night and it was a phenomenal turn out, considering it was a Sunday evening and the weather less than ideal,” Bridget said. “The committee was absolutely blown away by the support we received and are incredibly thankful to all the sponsors who donated prizes

and raffles. It was a great success and we look forward to doing it all again next year.” “We raised over $3,000. Everything goes towards helping the children and families of DYW. This includes going towards the running of our camps – we hold two per year, one for teens and one for children,” Bridget said. With a score of 102 points, five points clear of the rest, the winning team were the Village Idiots, clearly not living up to their moniker. Among the many raffle winners was Geoff, who was over the moon to win the signed All Blacks jersey. For more information visit
