Inspiring dance classes Dance teacher Fiona Haines says ballet has changed a lot over the past 20 years of her teaching, and certainly since she was a girl studying it herself. The Royal Academy of Dance has a beautiful new syllabus now that uses props and imagination along with the most inspiring orchestral music. It is a real pleasure to teach and watch the love of dance grow in students. Her academy is run from both Brooklyn and Karori suburbs. Along with

Jazz, Contemporary and RAD Ballet, she runs Fairy Ballet classes for pre-schoolers which involves stories and mimes for each class. The children love the acting side of ballet, and not just the younger ones, the older students can’t wait to find out what parts they will be playing each year in our productions. Past productions include Wizard of Oz, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Snow Goose and many more.

Dancing with is one the thing, but dancing with the is another.

Wellington Dance opens new City studio heart

We’re excited to have a new studio in Fifeshire Ave off Cambridge Terrace near the Basin Reserve. This is as well as our Thorndon studio and our local hall classes in Seatoun and Khandallah. Our new studio is an old ballroom dance school with two studios, a lovely feel and lots of

natural light. We have lots of classes for preschoolers and beginners (ballet and jazz) plus exciting new dance acrobatics for ages 7 years and up! Parking is available on the street, either Fifeshire, Barker St (next street towards the Basin) or on Cambridge Terrace.

Looking for a dance class for yourself or for your child? Royal Academy of Dance teachers are trained to teach dance following a carefully structured syllabus which is fun and safe, enabling students to progress in planned stages. Dance training offers many additional

benefits for students such as increased confidence, self-esteem, communication skills and self-motivation, improved posture and physical strength and an appreciation of music. An inspiring dance teacher will help students fulfil their dreams.
