Enormous progress is being made in the construction of a new campus for Avonside Girls’ High School and Shirley Boys’ High School. Some 5000 piles have now been driven into the ground at the site in QEII Park. The state of the art campus is on track to be opened for term two of 2019. Avonside Girls’ Principal Sue Hume expects the campus will become a crucial asset for the east of

The schools will make New Zealand history in 2019 when they become the first two single sex schools to co-locate.
