News The Governors Bay Volunteer Fire Brigade was kept busy over the weekend with the flooding and slips. Chief fire officer Andrew Norris said they helped move furniture and vehicles from Far Out Tomatoes in Allandale on Saturday when the whole valley became flooded. A house opposite the Wheatsheaf Tavern in Teddington had to be pumped out after it was inundated with water and a house in Ohinetahi had to be evacuated before a large retaining wall failed and smashed into it on Saturday afternoon.
An ambulance powers its way through water on Governors Bay Teddington Rd.
State Highway 75 was down to one lane on Friday while traffic management cleared this large slip.
