The Friends of Christchurch City Libraries guest speaker at this month’s book talk is Erin Eldridge. She will be talking about her fiction book – The Ivan. Elise lives in occupied Berlin, under Russian rule. Her husband, Erich, is in France with the German army, then becomes a prisoner of war. Divided and alone, each struggles to cope in a dangerous and unfamiliar world. The talk is being held on Tuesday at 12.30pm. The venue is the board room at Fendalton Library and Community Centre, cnr Clyde and Jeffreys Rds. Entry is by gold coin donation. All welcome.

KidsFest Amazing Atoms Tuesday, 10-11am Television, radio, sonar and telephones – just some of the great inventions we enjoy today thanks to the scientific discoveries made by Lord Ernest Rutherford and his peers.
