Free child restraint clinic on Saturday, 28 January in Rolleston!


efore buying or hiring a child restraint make sure the restraint is suitable for the age and size of your child. Always ensure it fits into your vehicle, as not all restraints fit all vehicles. If borrowing or buying second hand, always check the expiry date on the restraint. When installing any type of restraint always follow the manufacturers’ instructions. All restraints must fit firmly and not wobble. If you are not able to get it to fit correctly, contact a child restraint technician for advice. In Selwyn district we are very fortunate to have a small team of NZTA qualified

volunteer Child Restraint Technicians available to assist families with checking and installing child restraints. They are offering this free service in a child restraint clinic on Saturday, 28 January in Rolleston. Parents can call in between 10am and 12pm for advice, installation and anchor bolt fitting.

In regard to child restraints in vehicles, there are three different stages to progress through as your child grows. Stage 1

Rear facing infant seat.

Stage 2

Forward facing restraint.

Stage 3

Booster seat.
