SPONSORSHIP PACKAGE Celebrating 4 decades of Community Partnership

ABOUT US History of Success IEC Hamilton fills a unique niche as Canada’s first not-for-profit Industry Education Council, currently in our 4th decade serving this community.

We have two primary roles: 1. Community Mentorship Initiative IEC works to bridge the gap and create avenues for cooperation between those who teach and the community that will ultimately benefit from the educational success of students. IEC provides literacy, mentorship and experiential learning opportunities for youth through the Ministry of Education Passport To Prosperity Program and various funded projects, and for adults as part of the City’s Immigration and Neighbourhood Development Strategies.

2. Jobs Prosperity Collaborative initiative IEC works to passionately support Hamilton’s economic prosperity and Vision 2020 through the Jobs Prosperity Collaborative Project (JPC) We accomplish this by working collaboratively with hundreds of individuals and organizations who in turn work with thousands of like-minded citizens, willingly giving their time to positively change our community. Our primary task is to help improve the quality of life of Hamiltonians. We accomplish this by endorsing the creation and retention of jobs; facilitating communication among established groups; promoting efficiency; embracing innovation; and lobbying for strong leadership and change.

Bold Vision With both projects, all of our efforts involve partnership with community-minded people. It is our goal over the next three years to enlist an army of 10,000 thoughtful mentors and volunteers who will take on the challenges in our community, sharing their wisdom, experience and talent. This is a far-reaching and bold initiative but with your support, we will help to successfully introduce change on many levels in our community.

IEC’s Innovative Approach to Mentorship The IEC Mentorship program is an innovative addition to career exploration that encourages collaboration across all sectors; balances academic, social and economic need; emphasizes the link between information, confidence and great life choices; and uses creative new ways to involve the whole Hamilton community. This vision and action plan is based on the input of mentees of all ages across our region and offers a pragmatic solution to the challenges and opportunities created by the tremendous need to help all people make the most of their potential.

SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES The JPC and the Challenge of Change The vision of the JPC is grounded in the belief that a broad coalition of strong volunteers can achieve fundamental change. The JPC is made up of energetic community leaders, volunteers and organizations who are committed to promoting Hamilton’s quality of life and prosperity. The JPC has embraced the City’s vision “to be the best place in Canada to raise a child, promote innovation, engage citizens and provide diverse economic opportunities.” As a collective group, we are changing how we think about the bigger issues and working together to offer solutions and take action to help achieve those goals. We invite you and your businesses to show your support by joining us as corporate partners, sponsors and members.

IEC sponsorship offers the leading way to showcase your company profile and your corporate social responsibility by partnering in these two very important tasks of preparing people to work and giving them good reason to stay in Hamilton.
