Beat the relentless fuel price hikes As the evenings get shorter and the end of the summer draws near, it’s hard not to think about the inevitable onset of winter, which brings not just bitter weather but bigger energy bills too as we turn up the heating to keep the cold at bay. New figures released by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) on energy trends and prices over the past 12 months show that domestic electricity prices rose by 8.1% between July 2012 and July 2013, whilst domestic gas prices increased by 8.5% over the same period. But there are lots of things that can be done to improve the energy efficiency of the home, all of which helps to keep the fuel bills down. Some are instant fixes, such as insulating the loft or using draught excluders, but it’s also worth thinking about longer-term investments where possible, which will provide benefits for years to come as energy prices continue to increase.

glazed windows but their advanced technology lets in more sunlight, adding to the warmth within the home. They are also completely draught-free, so energy demands are cut from all sides, meaning homeowners could save hundreds of pounds a year on their energy bills. Established in 1966, Anglian Home Improvements was one of the government’s first Green Deal providers and is an Energy Saving Trust Recommended supplier. It offers a broad selection of stylish and energy efficient products, including windows, doors conservatories, roof trim, solar panels and much more.

One of the best home improvements from an energy saving perspective is installing energy efficient windows and doors, as around 30 per cent of a home’s heat loss is due to it escaping through windows and doors. Thanks to modern technology, energy saving windows such as Anglian’s A rated EcoGain windows can even help to heat the home. They look just like regular double

Have you considered Thin Oynx Thanks to modern cutting and design techniques, the variety of materials that can be used in buildings and for decorative purposes. This has opened up a whole new world of wonderful possibilities for incorporating the amazing look and timeless feel of natural stone into many different and exciting projects. Thin onyx is just one of these many options and one particular Oxfordshire based company is at the forefront of this work. Grama Blend are a company who need little introduction to those within the building and construction industry. The company developed from a natural stone specialist business based in Henley-on-Thames and are now one of the leaders in the field of using thin natural stone solutions in a wide range of settings. This has meant some installations in a number of impressive

House & Home and prestigious projects. ‘Here at Grama Blend we really are delighted that we can incorporate some of the most beautiful and exclusive natural stones into a variety of projects. Marble, granite, limestone and onyx are all examples of the stones we use and this has seen us being chosen for some amazing installations such as the Tower 42 elevator revamp, Vintners Palace, Heathrow Terminal 5 and many others,’ explained a representative from the company. ‘We think it just goes to show the appeal of these fantastic looking stones.’ Grama Blend is certainly enjoying great success with their range of ultra thin natural stone. The company not only has conventional stone processing facilities here in the UK but also has two specialist production facilities in Europe. The applications for the use of the stone is ideal for elevators but also for many other projects where the beauty of natural stone can really be used to great effect. ‘Backlit stone really does look sensational, and thanks to our unique lightweight panels, no metal frameworks are required. We have also seen our thin stone used in super yachts to really add a special touch,’ explained a company representative. ‘And of course, it can be used in commercial and domestic settings where it can add a wonderful sense of unique beauty and elegance.’

A Taste of Heaven A real taste of heaven has been served up on a trading estate near Adderbury. One of the area's premier bespoke kitchen creators, Heaven & Stubbs has arrived at Twyford Mills in style.

The company has expanded from it's first showroom at Glebe Farm, Farthinghoe and set up a second at the Adderbury trading estate. This additional showroom is part of the company's future expansion plans for the business that provides premier bespoke kitchens, studies and libraries.

At Twyford Mills, the company has created a stunning kitchen 'pod' on a prime position overlooking a cluster of other well known and established businesses that also focus on premium interiors. "This showroom was all about creating a beautiful kitchen; future custommade showrooms will feature a library and a study will all the bespoke features you could possibly want" said Director Howard Stubbs. The design they have chosen for the model is reminiscent of a Scandinavian

summerhouse complete with classic wood decking. On the inside, in this instance, is a Heaven and Stubbs dream kitchen - one of comfort, style, warmth, light, functionality, practicality and creativity. A beautifully-appointed kitchen has been lovingly crafted to show the customer what can be achieved by using the right company. One that knows exactly what it is doing, takes pride in its craftsmanship and works hand in hand with the customer to create a kitchen that surpasses all dreams and expectations. "It was the right time for us to expand" said Howard. "Our business has grown over the years and with this new site we have the room to showcase our expertise - starting with the kitchen and moving on to bespoke study and library pods over the coming years".

The 'pod' model has been to chosen to reflect the bespoke services in situ incorporating features that set it apart from the norm - from comfortable halfmoon seating set into the island work station to functional but unusual and stylish occasional tables.

"The term 'bespoke' means an item custom made to the buyers specification, and that's what we exactly do - unlike other large kitchen companies out there who say they are bespoke, but ultimately can only provide what's in their catalogues", said Howard, who has been creating beautiful kitchens for the past 23 years. From day one, the bespoke progress is a partnership - one that continues until the customer is completely happy with the end result. "We forge relationships with our clients to understand their needs; we discuss likes and dislikes and the practicalities of turning dreams into reality; our 3D visual images provide the client with a real feel for what the new kitchen will be like".

Howard usually finds that people have a very set idea of what they want but for those who need a little inspiration, he suggests getting hold of a couple of back copies of the Beautiful Kitchen magazine - then its just a matter of a trip to Twyford Mill and a chat with Howard to make your kitchen dreams come true.

Why Showers May Never Replace Baths

House & Home

The experience of bathing and the positive effects on the body, mind and spirit have long meant that a shower that relies on mainly on hygienic and time saving benefits will never quite hit the spot in the same way as a bath can.

are therefore more valued by us than showers this may be one good reason why showers have become a necessary addition to the bathroom hygiene armoury rather than simply an adequate replacement for the bath.

The discovery of royal bath tub (albeit a clay one) of the Queen on Knossos in Crete, centuries of bathing in hot springs (despite the taste and smell of the water), and of course the fact that an estimated 90% plus of UK homes have a bath are all evidence that our love affair with our baths and their benefits is an enduring one.

If we especially value the experience of a bath does this mean that different baths can give us very different experiences and different levels of enjoyment? Top bathroom designer Joe Mühl from Ocean Bathrooms in Bridport, Dorset explores this idea:

As well as the soothing and relaxing effects of being immersed in warm water, bathing and the use of bathlike structures have a long association with spiritual cleansing and purification too. For example ancient Egyptians washed twice daily to honour Isis. For many of us the day starts with a shower rather than a bath primarily because it is fast and it is a way of helping us to wake up. A bath on the other hand requires time, and though it may be less economical than a shower, it helps us to relax and is likely to be thought of more as a special reward at the end of long day. Our baths are likely to be ritualised and savoured because they are based as much on pleasure as they are on hygienic necessity, and if we accept that baths

“In my experience the ambience and feel of the whole bathroom, and different types of bath can affect our perceptions of the bathing experience in terms of how relaxed we feel and our levels of satisfaction. For example a Japanese soaking tub is much shorter than a conventional bath and is deep enough to immerse the whole body in which is a great feeling. There’s something satisfying about the warmth of a deep copper bath, and free standing baths allow us to feel as though we are less restricted and can make us feel really relaxed. I think that stone baths have their own very special feel. You can of course choose a whirlpool or spa bath and incorporate mood lighting to engage even more of the senses.

Is Triple Glazing Overkill for UK Homes? Developed originally for use in colder and more northerly climates of Canada and Scandinavia Triple Glazing represents the next wave of energy saving glazing developments for our homes but are 3 panes really going to be better than 2?

come at a better time – and I don’t mean that from a commercial point of view. The extra glazed layer gives Triple Glazing it truly amazing thermal insulating properties. To you and I that translates into helping to create savings on energy bills for a long time to come.

Firstly it’s important to understand the initial reasons for the popularity of multi-glazed windows. Savings on our energy bills for example were not the main motivator for the early generations of double glazing adopters.

Some people were sceptical about the benefits of using solar panels in this country and yet after the summer we’ve been having suddenly they didn’t seem like such a bad idea. The fact is that our weather seems to be getting less predictable and it only takes a really cold winter – which is a real possibility – to make you appreciate any insulation and energy saving measures you’ve taken.

Keeping the winter draughts out was for a long time the main point that double glazing advertising emphasised. Also Replacing rotting wooden frames with a hard wearing low maintenance alternative that made the house look at least as good as next door, and hopefully would add enough value (real and perceived) to the house were popular reasons during the last housing boom for ‘new windows’. In fact it is a now pretty much a given that ‘new windows’ actually means new double glazed windows to UK homeowners who have been made more acutely aware of the extra energy saving benefits of double glazing by a crippling recession and rising energy prices. It should therefore not now be a difficult connection for homeowners to make between the number of layered panes that a window has and its insulating qualities – thermal (especially) and acoustic. The sales and marketing methods of glazing companies in the past however have at times caused an image problem with the cautious UK homeowner and the thought of splashing out on a high value and new variant of a product in hard times has prompted some people to dismiss or delay any commitment both mentally and physically to triple glazing. So, is Triple Glazing in the UK climate really overkill? Double Glazing industry expert Dave Pearson of Swindon based double glazing repair and replacement company DA Windows explains why he thinks it is not. “The new Triple Glazing incorporates all of the latest developments in glazing and if you ask me it couldn’t have

I don’t know about you but somehow I don’t think that energy prices are going to be falling any time in the near future, and if you need to replace your windows anyway, it may as well be with something that you know is going to bring superior benefits to you and your family and your quality of life for a long time to come. Triple glazing is certainly not overkill – to me it’s common sense.”

Surprisingly after a gold starred career in IT lasting some 35 years one found oneself too old and ridiculously too experienced for any role in IT. One had to find something else to do.

o get over the shock of not being wanted I started looking for a franchise or small business to buy or start up. While searching, I found this guy in Witney who wanted to sell his business so that he could spend more time with his young family. The company sold top end out-door clothing and footwear to the hunting, shooting, equestrian markets by way of attending game fairs and county shows across the country, this was something new to me, but I did know how to sell one on one to clients.

First job done

I had found a company I wanted to buy.

Job 2 find the money

Over the previous 40 or so years I believed I had bull up a good working relationship with my bank. How wrong was I! They offered zero help or assistance. I spend the next few months trying to raise some money. I finally raised the money by way of a re mortgage. Job 2 completed.

Job 3, Get it all up and running.

This proved to be huge fun, I found an office and warehouse, bought some stock, acquired a vehicle, signage, stationery a desk and chair, found a company to build a web site( they did a great job) we are getting orders from USA, France, German, Finland, Australia and all over the UK Countryshires is up and running, a fast and very steep learning curve, not least in working out what to buy that will sell. 2012 has been really exciting

We will be working with three new suppliers who are complementing our core offering. We will have a hunting and game tea t out at shows, an equestrian team for the 3 day events and a race team for the big horse race meeting around the country. We will be attending more European shows and I have my eye on a show in Russia. We plan to build a new country weekend offering and a new urban package to launch later in the year. So please check out our web site, or come along to our show room and see if we can, proudly, add you to our growing list of clients.

Garden decking that stays perfect There is nothing quite like that feeling when new decking has been laid and it looks gloriously fresh and new. It looks like it will never ever fade, but of course it does. Worse still, the many different factors that are the curse of garden decking will come to haunt it on an all too regular basis. Rain, ice, snow plus insects. Insects that love wood are bad news for your decking and before you know it, your decking is ripe for wrecking. But one company is advocating a new solution to the decking nightmares and it could be bad news for wood loving insects. Composite decking from UK based Fiberon is a very different beast to standard wood decking in that it uses a high amount of recycled domestic wood by-product together with some recycled plastic. This, claims the company, is what makes Fiberon so special. ‘Fiberon is so perfect for decking, it is almost untrue. The fact that it is naturally resistant to wood consuming insects is a very important factor as this problem that many decking owners fear most,‘ explained

the company spokesperson. ‘Moreover, the combination of plastic and maple gives the Fiberon allows the decking to have superior strength and performance when compared to wood. It really is a superb material and one that we suspect many gardeners have been waiting for years.’ The company is keen to highlight the strength and durability of Fiberon composite decking but is also aware that many people are keen to retain the natural beauty of wood and may shy away from a non wood solution. The company say that it is worth taking a look at the finish of the composite decking before making a decision. ‘We know that natural wood is beautiful and we have taken that into account when designing our composite decking. Take a look at the images of actual installations on our website and you will be amazed at how fantastic and natural the product looks,’ explained a company representative. ‘For many people, it will look even better than real wood! We think that it has everything going for it. Great looks, strength, resistance to insects...and we even add a 25 year warranty!

If A Dog Isn’t Just For Christmas, What About Summer? We are all familiar with the annual message not to get a dog for Christmas, so the question is when is the best time to get a dog? According to the UK’s leading dog adoption website, summer time - specifically the school holidays - is the ideal time to introduce a new four legged family member to the home.

The worrying trend of dogs being abandoned on the streets, or tied to rescues gates, is something the campaign also hopes to stem by offering behavioral advice to those considering giving up their dog to try and put a stop to the dangerous conditions dogs are being discarded.

With a rise of more than 30% of dogs abandoned in the first three months of 2013 alone, financial implications and relationship breakdowns remain the most common reasons dogs are abandoned.

Jimmy, a 2-year-old Patterdale Terrier cross, who is currently on, and in the care of Jerry Green Dog Rescue in Blidworth in Nottinghamshire, is one such dog who was left tied to the gates of the rescue at the end of May. Not only had he been left tethered to the gates waiting for someone to find him, he was also suffering for mange, which he has since been treated for and is now looking for a loving new home.

So it’s no surprise that a recent study showed that over half (54%) of pets whose owners break up are abandoned after couples can’t decide who should keep the pet. The Summer initiative run by and sponsored by Co-operative Insurance, aims to debunk the myths surrounding dogs in rescues and encourage those considering bringing a dog into their home, to adopt a dog while the family are at home during the school holidays. Speaking about the campaign, cofounder Ryan O’Meara said: “With dog abandonment continuing to rise – we’re hoping National Dog Adoption Month can help to show dogs in rescues centres in a different light. We’re hoping to show that dogs in rescues aren’t all damaged, yes some may have had a tougher start than others, but with a rescue dog even if the dog’s background isn’t know, the rescue will have behaviourally assessed and worked to assess each dog to match their perfect home up, so a lot will be known about the dog from the very start of your journey to ensure they are placed in the best home possible.”

A former professional dog trainer, Ryan continues, “These dogs are not objects to be thrown out in the way many are. It’s a trend which must stop.” Celebrity dog lovers, including Gemma Merna, Alex Fletcher, Kieron Richardson and Nicole Barber Lane, are supporters of National Dog Adoption Month, sponsored by Co-operative Insurance, which will run throughout August. ambassador and actress Adele Silva says, “I’m so pleased to be an ambassador for and through that, a supporter of this Summer’s National Dog Adoption Month. There are over 100,000 dogs sitting right now in rescue centres and foster homes across the UK just waiting for a second chance and new home. My own dog, Minnie, brings a smile to my face every day - so bring joy, adopt a dog!”

Spindles Farm survivor Duke triumphs at local horse show

has now been backed and is living life to the full. This week Duke took part in his first ever show jumping and dressage competitions at Widmer Equestrian Centre in Lacey Green, Buckinghamshire winning the dressage competition with a score of 59%. Not only was it his first dressage test but also his first time in an indoor school! Duke also took part in the clear round jumping. The Horse Trust only have 3 jumps with rustic poles, so Duke had never seen a coloured pole or jumped a course of jumps. However, brave Duke rose to the challenge and with the encouragement of his rider, The Horse Trust’s resident trainer Jane Calvert, he popped over all of the jumps beautifully.

A thoroughbred gelding who survived one of the worst animal cruelty cases the UK has ever seen this week won his first ever dressage competition at a local horse show. Duke, a gorgeous thoroughbred gelding, was rescued from the horrors of Spindles Farm, Amersham. Over 100 horses, ponies and donkeys were found in the most appalling conditions, 34 horses were already dead. These poor animals where found barely alive, crammed in foul, stinking stables and standing on the dead bodies of their companions. 115 animals were rescued in an 8 day joint operation mounted by UK welfare charities.

Jeanette Allen, Chief Executive of The Horse Trust said ‘We are so proud of all that Duke has achieved despite tough start in life. We hope that this will be the start of a promising career for Duke and that he will go on to represent The Horse trust as many more shows in future. Duke’s health problems mean that he can’t be rehomed, but we guarantee that he will have a happy and secure home at The Horse Trust for the rest of his life.’

16hh black gelding Duke arrived at The Horse Trust, a Buckinghamshire based horse charity, in January 2008 along with 13 of the sickest horses, ponies and donkeys rescued that day. He was only 2 years old and like most of the animals rescued Duke was very sick, emaciated and suffering from life-threatening infections. After intensive veterinary treatment and care Duke slowly began to recover, but sadly his troubles were far from over. Duke developed Sarcoids on his left eye and had to travel over 200 miles to the University of Liverpool’s Equine Hospital to undergo specialist treatment to remove the tumours. Thankfully Duke’s treatment was successful but he went on to suffer recurring bouts of colic and had to undergo life-saving surgery at The Royal Veterinary College. This beautiful horse has been through so much in his short life, but thanks to his incredible spirit, the round the clock care and specialist treatment given at The Horse Trust and the generosity of the public, he has overcome every ordeal. Duke is now 6 years old and a happy, healthy horse and

Can you name all the kings and queens of England?

Thames Valley Life

Naming the kings and queens of England in order and knowing a bit about what they did during their reign should be something every child should know by the time they leave school. Sadly this is not the case and there has been a call for more chronological order in history education. So how do we remember them? Funny incidents and pictures definitely help. Here at last is the perfect aide memoire, whether you are a school child or a lover of pub quizzes. ‘The Little Book of Monarchs’ is probably the most concise English history book ever published. It swiftly sorts out all those Edwards, Henrys and Georges, all the major battles, rebellions and bizarre deaths across ten turbulent centuries. The author Tony Boullemier has vividly summed up all 42 rulers of England since 1066 and condensed each

reign into five key bullet points. Every ruler is illustrated by a clever cartoon that will stick in the memory. For younger readers, aged 10 +, The Little Book of Monarchs will provide a chronological narrative order, giving a firm foundation for future history studies. For students and older readers, it will be an indispensable reference book a short and snappy aide memoire to our bloody and glorious past. For everyone, it is our history with a smile on its face! Suzannah Lipscomb, TV historian and author says: “Take Tony Boullemier’s pithy, precise and lively text, add Adrian Teal’s delightful and amusing cartoons, and what do you get? A wonderfully accurate and fascinating little guide to English monarchs since 1066. It takes monumental discipline and expansive knowledge to fit each monarch into 90 words - but Tony Boullemier pulls it off with aplomb.”

It’s driving instructor college time It may be the time of year when many children are counting down the days until they back in the classroom and dreading homework but it could also be the time for people learn a really important new skill and go back to college themselves. How does a term at driving instructor college sound? That is the question being asked by Around the Bend Driving School who are hoping that some future driving instructors out there will realise their potential and grab the steering wheel to a new career with both hands, preferably in a ten to two position! The company has been successfully helping learner drivers rip up their L plates for some and believe that some experienced drivers out there in the North East have got what it takes to teach future generations. ‘There are not many careers where you can be sure there will always be work but this is certainly one of them. There are always going to be new learner drivers coming along and that means that there will always be a need for instructors,’ explained an Around the Bend representative. ‘There are also

not that many careers that will give you such a sense of job satisfaction, knowing that you are passing on those all important like skills to new drivers. With Around the Bend, we can help you achieve your driving instructor goals.’ Around the Bend go on to say that becoming a driving instructor can lead to a very good salary with the potential to earn up to around £30k per annum. And it seems that the company is keen to maintain the high standards that is sets for its regular learner drivers. ‘We are keen to ensure that the level of training that you receive at Around the Bend is the very best possible, whilst at the same time proving to be enjoyable. We are keen that you learn at fast pace so that we can you into your new career as soon as possible,’ explained a company spokesperson. Maybe you are stuck in a job that you are desperate to leave or a looking for work after redundancy? If so then it may be that Around the Bend has the solution that you have been looking for. If you are keen on learning more about attending driving instructor college, visit www.aroundthebend. for more information.

Nicolites React to Link Between Cigarette Packaging & Smoking According to the Telegraph on September 3, the public health minister, Anna Soubry, has spoken in the Commons of the link between marketing and young people starting to smoke. Speaking from experience, she indicated that “gorgeous” cigarette packaging encouraged her to begin smoking as a teenager because cigarettes were a “symbol of glamour”. Additionally, she stated that the packaging of cigarettes could cause “many” young people to start smoking cigarettes. Speaking of her own experience with cigarette packaging, she told a debate in Westminster Hall that: “It was the power of that package, it was the opening of the cellophane, the gold and the silver, that is so powerfully important in many people who as youngsters take up smoking.” Her comments follow an ongoing debate on implementing plain cigarette packaging in an attempt to deter people from smoking and young people from

Health & Beauty starting the habit. Australia has already put a plain cigarette packaging policy in place and recent research has suggested that this has helped smokers to quit the habit.

Nicolites, who are a leading provider of electronic cigarettes, closely follow industry news and so a spokesperson for the company offered their comments: “There is an ongoing debate on the best methods of encouraging smokers to quit the habit. While plain packaging may be one method, electric cigarettes have also been suggested to be an effective tool used to help quit smoking. With the measured dose of nicotine contained within the product and the user inhaling and exhaling a water vapour, these products offer an alternative to traditional cigarettes.” Nicolites is now the leading and most widely available brand of electric cigarette in the UK; they have formed business partnerships with many of the largest retailers to bring these wonderful innovations right on to the doorstep of every person in the country. Established in late 2007, Nicolites has grown into a multi-million pound company with international distribution networks and continues to grow at a phenomenal rate.

Tiring timetables leave children exhausted Shattered kids are ‘working’ for 54 hours a week, according to a new study by Haliborange, the UK’s number one range of children’s vitamins. Researchers found parents are over-timetabling their children with extra-curricular activities in addition to their school commitments. This means exhausted children are spending seven hours a week more in educational activities than the average adult does working. Most children already complete 32.5 hours a week at school Monday to Friday, as well as seven hours and 28 minutes of homework each week. But on top of this, parents enrol kids into at least two activities a week, such as swimming, football, dance classes or music lessons, in an effort to help them find something in which they shine.

hours and one minute a week. And finally, to make absolutely sure their child has the very best chance of getting ahead, the average parents also spends one hour a day, or seven hours a week, teaching their children through play. Dr Claire Halsey, parenting expert and clinical psychologist commented on the Haliborange Kids Vitamins study: “This study indicates just how much parents want to do the best for their children. “All any parent wants is for their child to be happy and reach their full potential. While it’s great for kids to have hobbies and explore new activities, the best thing for their mental and physical development is to spend time playing and having fun, letting them shine naturally.”

The study suggests that more parents than ever before are open to educating their children away from school with extra-tuition. Indeed, one in three people polled admitted their child also attends at least one class a In addition, most parents say they actively read with week Phoenix advertfor quarter page 7-2013_Layout 19:24 Page 1 in either English, Maths or Science. This adds a further two hours and 26 minutes to an already gruelling timetable of events.

The study also shows a quarter of parents are worried their children are not getting the adequate nutrition they need because they are so busy.

On at least three nights a week families don’t sit down together to eat. Four in 10 parents are supporting their child’s diet with vitamins to boost their health and 58% of these parents said giving their child vitamins helped provide peace of mind. Nutritionist Dr Frankie Phillips comments: “It can be hard to fit in three nutritious meals a day when the children are being ferried between school, clubs and extra tutoring. But time to eat together as a family is very important. We know from research studies that families who eat together regularly tend to be better off nutritionally speaking; they eat a healthier diet. Vitamin and mineral deficiencies, as well as dehydration, can lead to fatigue and poor health; tiredness resulting from poor nutrition can compromise concentration and consequently performance in school. The poll reveals that four out of five parents feel it is right to try and educate their children as much as possible when they are not in the school environment. And it seems some parents are competitive too, with 41 per cent admitting they have always been concerned about their child’s development, worrying whether they know as much as other children in their age group.

10 Questions to ask before Buying Wedding Rings

There are many ways in which you can liven up your wedding celebrations to make it that bit different and music is always going to be a guaranteed hit with any newly married couple and their guests, but one company that specialises in wedding entertainment and theming has come up with a unique and powerful way to bring the magic of Bollywood music right into your wedding. With an Asian wedding pianist you really will be setting the right tone. The company behind this exciting entertainment option, Kudos Services, are no strangers to the wedding entertainment industry, having been responsible for delivering comprehensive range of acts and entertainment for many weddings and events over the years. The inclusion of an Asian pianist was something that the team had apparently been considering for some time. ‘There is nothing quite like the magic of a piano, especially when it is played by a really talented pianist, but what we feel is even better is that wonderful fusion of jazz and Bollywood, which is quite something, especially in the romance fuelled atmosphere of a wedding,’ explained a representative of the Kudos Services team. ‘Our pianist really is a superb player and quite capable of finding the right mood and tone for your event, so if you want something more classic Asian or maybe something traditional English or classic jazz in style, you will really be more than happy.’ More and more couples these days are choosing to do things a little differently, and one

fantastic way of achieving these would be to enrol the wonderful talents of the Asian pianist. The magic of Bollywood music on the piano is sure to go down a treat with everyone and will really add to the wonderful atmosphere. Even better still is the fact that the pianist can take requests, proving what a great talent he is by interacting with your guests. ‘Of course, many people want a DJ for their wedding event, and this is certainly something that we can help arrange for you to help give you give your event that more contemporary edge,’ explained a Kudos team member. ‘A pianist, however, can add that musical finesse that will really prove magical.’

5 Tips for Affordable Pre-Wedding Celebrations

Perhaps one of the most popular and best loved wedding traditions is the pre-wedding celebrations like the wedding shower and bachelor parties. Usually these parties are supplied by the mother of the bride or the best man etc. Some couples find that they would rather host their own either out of necessity or desire. Really, it does not matter who throws the party because in the end, it should still be affordable. There are ways to make this happen.

Throw a jack and Jill party which combines the bachelor and bachelor party together. If it is hosted at a home, your guests can bring their own alcoholic beverages.

Have your bridal shower at your own home providing
