awaii Tropical Flowers and Foliage Association - Kauai will be presenting a Tropical Flower Design Show Friday night at the Fair featuring Kauai’s finest floral designers. In addition our annual “Amateur Floral Arranging Contest” with prizes. The winners name will be placed on the beloved Mayor Brian Baptiste Perpetual Trophy and displayed proudly in the Mayor’s office. Event Flower Design Show starts at 6:30 p.m, those desiring to enter the amateur contest need to sign in at the end of the Agricultural exhibition tent for the event and entries are taken until 7:30 p.m. Amateur contest starts at 7:45 p.m. We are accepting entries from persons that have not entered the “Amateur Floral Arranging Contest” in the past. ant to make your own butterfly? Come visit invasive species station to build your butterfly, decorate with colors and glitters and be informed on the butterfly body parts. Building station will be open Friday, August 17, 7:30 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 18, 3:30 to 5 p.m.

o aspect of island culture is safe from Da Braddahs’ wacky brand of Hawaiian-style ridicule on their popular self-produced sketch comedy. James Roache, Tony Silva and da Friends poke fun at the many cultures that make Hawaii so unique! James and Tony play many different recurring characters from crazed microphone carrying Do Ho to Samoan father and son tree trimmers, to the two insipid and hapless cops. Da Braddahs comedy has been making local Hawaii people ‘Jus Buckaloose’ laughing for years.
