Hastings Photography Enthusiasts Invite Local People To Photo Vote On Hastings Pier A group of local photography enthusiasts will be displaying over 100 images from their 'The Three Colours Red, White and Blue' Photo Challenge at a forthcoming event to be held on Hastings Pier. The exhibition takes place on Sunday 3 August 11-5pm and local people and visitors to Hastings are being invited to vote for their favourite image from the Challenge. The budding photographers are all members of the Channel Hastings group on the popular photo-sharing site Flickr. It currently consists of 182 members comprising both local residents and visitors to Hastings and has approximately 4000 photos taken in Hastings and 1066 Country. The official voting will take place from 11 to 4pm and the winner of the Challenge will be announced shortly afterwards. Freelance photographer and organiser of the challenge Terry Russell said: "This month's 'Red, White and Blue' theme has proven to be another big success with 20 individual contributors. We hope that local people and visitors to Hastings will feel
inspired to visit us and cast their vote for their favourite photograph on Sunday." Terry Russell added: "We are very also excited to announce that our first ever Channel Hastings Photo Display is currently being held at The Hastings Information Centre. The display showcases a wide and diverse selection of photos taken in Hastings and 1066 Country." The Photo Display opened on Monday 14 July and runs for four weeks until Sunday 17 August. To participate in future photo challenges all budding photographers need to sign up for a Flickr account. The basic membership is free and after joining Flickr they can then join the Channel Hastings group on Flickr and participate in the latest photo challenge. In the event of bad weather Sunday's Photo Challenge display will be held in Bar Luxor on Hastings Pier.
